Just wanted to introduce myself and some our flock....

My name is Jeanne and my husband, John, and I own A Helping Wing Parrot Rescue located in the Hudson Valley region of New York. We are a 501c3 nonprofit rescue that works towards finding loving homes for our feathered friends.

We take in mainly large birds, mostly macaws, but we do take in cockatoos, greys, amazons etc. on a need to basis. The rescue is run out of our home and I wouldn't have it any other way (well, maybe when they all start going at sunset).

Here's some of our birds (mostly personal).

This is Budgie, wild caught Scarlet who loves his Daddy

May God bless you for helping so many birds in need.
The birds are all so beautiful, they all look healthy with lovely colouring.
Look at them, all so innocent.
I pray they all find loving guardians, who would care for them the way you guys have.
Who knows, members on this forum, who are looking to adopt a bird, may assist you guys.
Keep up the great work, we appreciate all you do.

We are very happy to have you as forum members. I am the person who is always urging people to contact the various foundations that rescue birds instead of purchasing at a store or from a breeder. I love Maverick and would love him in my life but I am limited by space in a small senior apartment now. He has personality plus that comes out in the photo. Thanks for being here.

Whoa, I live in the Hudson Valley! Where are you guys located? If you're not far, I'd love to maybe swing by and check out the birds. Heck, if possible, I'd LOVE to volunteer with working with some birds! Anyway, it's great to know there's a bird rescue nearby me! Congrats on helping all those birds. I'm in love woth Mai Tai!

Maverick is a pip. Realized that none of the birds I posted are for adoption (there was a limit of 10 photos). All these birds are our personal ones. Maverick was a rescue for us five years ago and he's a wonderful bird once he gets to know you (he's a bit shy).

We're in Hopewell Junction. We're looking for a new place that is bigger and has a different setup for the birds.

Welcome! You have quiet a flock there. I love the colors of Scarlets and GW's - I'm partial to red. And other blue-throat! Not a macaw one sees every day.
