Hi Wheelz, and welcome to the forums. I merged/combined your threads together, as they are just about identical. Please take the time and read the forum rules/guidelines I sent to you earlier.
We have several members with Hawkheads. I'm sure they will chime in once they see your thread.
Hi I have a Hawk head named Charlotte . Ive had her since she was first weaned . Shes a big sweety, loves cuddles with me every night. She likes everyone in my family . Shes a great eater, loves her toys, has a loud call , she talks, shyer bird wants to be included with us. Shes not at all like you read about them on the internet. But I knew a women that had a female and male . Her female was just like mine . I don't know if its a female thing . But I have 22 birds and how their raised ,weaned and socialized makes a HUGE difference. Would I recommend one ? Certainly
Hello and welcome to the forum!
I also have a Hawkhead who is 23 years old. I got her about 18 months ago, and she was a breeder all her life prior to that. She will step up occasionally, and has the sweetest voice ever. She loves scritches, and I feel she has come a long way since we got her.
She has a really high pitched scream that is hard on the ears, but luckily she doesn't scream very often.
I think it's great you are doing some research before getting one of these beauties, and I was also recommend watching some YouTube videos of them
I have one, as well. A little boy. He is like having a small child. The bird is so full of energy, he never stays still. ALWAYS wants to be with you. Very feisty, and will bite when he doesn't get his way. lol! There is no place for me to "hide" anymore. He will fly around the house until he finds me and perch on my head.
But.. I love the little booger more than anything and couldn't imagine life without his vibrant personality.
