Well hello there! My name is Logan, I'm 28 and love all animals. I have experience with horses, dogs, cats, fish, rodents, ferrets, and reptiles. I have never considered myself to be a bird person, but I am about to get my very own apartment, and am thinking about adding a feathered friend to my animal family so have come here to learn more about birds, which one is right for me, how to choose, how to care for, train, and everything else I need to know to be a responsible owner.

=)

Welcome Logan :). You've come to the right place to learn about our wonderful feathered friends!

I'm not sure how much you've looked into birds yet, but is there a certain species of parrot that has caught your attention, or that you have in mind?

I really love the look and sound of sun conures. However I'd rather find a good 'match' than just go for what I find pretty. =)

I left a post in the general forum with far more detail to what I came here for.

Hello Logan! Welcome to the forum! Glad to see you're doing a lot of research before adopting a feathered companion.

Rose Breasted
Having not owned a bird since I was young and doing research and going to pet stores...in my non professional opinion...I'd stick with a cockatiel. All others were really loud and I'd be afraid of the apartment complex sending nasty grams. We got a Rose Breasted, although a Gray would have been great too...our Rose has little screaming fits for attention and just because (rather funny and we ignore it for the most part) but he's noisy.

Hello Logan and welcome!
I'm so glad you are doing research to see what kind of bird would make the best fit with you:)
