My name is Jennifer and my family is getting a green cheeked conure in the next week. We had a 15 yo quaker parrot that just passed away a week ago. I know the new bird won't fill the void of our late Taz. But I miss having a bird. I have always been fond of the green cheeked conures but know that there are going to be alot of new areas that I haven't visited in 15 yrs. So coming here for help and moral support as I go thru these first steps.

Adventures are good things. Ty for the condolences. I miss Taz deeply for lots of reasons. The grieving is definitely harder than I expected. Knowing she lived 15 good yrs I didn't realize all the connections she meant in my life. The new gcc is exciting to me and can't wait to get him. I'm used to biting because Taz did it alot when she was mad. The gcc is almost 5 months old. So looking forward to many yrs of birdy bliss.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Taz. Fifteen years with a quaker must have been a wonderful journey. I know it's heartbreaking to say goodby.

I'll definitely post homecoming pics of him when I get him home. Breeder is quite sure its a he lol although no DNA has been done as of yet. Count down begins until Friday evening. Maybe I can post a memorial to Taz here with pics of her. I don't know which topic I should put it under though.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's heart breaking when a close friend is lost. I know your pain and I am truly sorry.

I agree we would all absolutely love to see pics of your new friend when he or she gets home. Green cheek conure are so much fun! Little clowns.
