Hello,

I'm quite new to this forum - just signed up about two days ago - and you may call me Snow. I currently have a beautiful eight-month-old male Pied cockatiel named Julian and an adorable 3.5-week-old sun conure chick named Phoenix. :orange::grey:

I love both my babies very much, although the little one takes up most of my time due to the constant care and feedings. Still, I wouldn't trade them for anything.

I'm no stranger to birds - I kept a stunning Taiwanese Pekin robin and two doves while I was younger - but this is my first time keeping parrots in general.

I also have other pets - freshwater fish and designer shrimp, marine fish, corals and marine invertebrates (starfish, hermit crabs, mantis shrimp, ornamental shrimp, ornamental crabs, sea urchins etc.), a Chinese golden thread turtle, both my birds and a therapy/support dog. I used to keep red-eared sliders, wild fence lizards and hamsters as well. I am a passionate animal lover and would love all the guidance and advice/feedback from this forum.

It's been a pleasure meeting all of you. :)

Welcome Snow :). I love the names Julian and Phoenix! Sounds like you have an interesting assortment of animals! I'm also fascinated with fish tanks, and I used to keep marine and fresh water.

Thank you, RavensGryf! I do have an interesting household - certainly keeps me on my toes. Evening is the busiest because everyone wants food at the same time haha.

Good to see a fellow fishkeeper on here as well! :)

Hi everyone! Sure, I'd love to share some pics.

This is Julian:

And this was Phoenix when I first got him:

This was him two days ago - he's developed a lot more feathers in these past two days that I find his growth quite amazing. I'm feeding him Kaytee Exact for baby parrots - around 10cc to 12cc five times per day as per my avian vet's instructions.

Next week onwards, his feedings will be cut down to four times a day, with roughly 12cc to 15cc per feeding.

Hi SP :)

Where in SE Asia are you? I'm in Bangkok and would be over the moon to be in touch with members living in the same part of the world :)

Lol - ok...Malaysia - lol...sorry, only saw that now.

Where did you get your birds from? Market? Petshop? I'm in Bangkok and will begin looking for breeders once I have got everything sorted.
