Umbrella Cockatoo
Just obtained our first parrot she is a 14 yr. old U2 that we "hopefully" rescued from some rough conditions. Her cage hadnt been cleaned, she was on a seed only diet, We have only had her for 4 days now and things seem to be going OK.
I have here eating a variety of vegtables that I chop up fresh every morning, and then she has access to zupreem natural pellets all day which I was shocked to find she likes them and has given up the seed almost completely. We have been giving her some fruit snacks oncen in awhile, and I still provide her a little seed with her pellets.
First few days we have kind of left her alone, we would open her door so she could come out on her own, and she has last night she actually came down off of the cage and walked over to the couch and got up on the couch and would walk back and forth between my wife and I for some pettting. She obviously likes my wife better than I and has tried to test me by bluffing with me a bit but I just showed her i wasnt scared and she quit and went on about her business.
Shortley she came back for some petting.
I joined this site for information that I can use in our new adventure.
Thanks Rob
