Hey! I just found these forums today, and I'm SO glad I did. I'm getting a pair of Quakers from my sister-in-law hopefully next week. My husband travels for work, and I HATE making that drive on my own lol so I am waiting for him to get home. The birds are about one year old. I've had parakeets before, but that was when I was still in school. I loved having them though, and I can't wait to bring my new little feathered friends home.

Welcome to the forum. We can[t wait to see your new family. The book Parrots for Dummies is a great way to transition your brain from Keets to Quakers! a lot of us have found good stuff there.

Hi and welcome to the forum, hopefully you and your sister-in-law will still be friends after you get the quakers home :09:, I'm sure shes either told you, or you've experienced for yourself just how noisy they can be, and with two its double trouble :11:, their very cute and clownish but their not for everybody, good luck with the new fids(fids=feathered kids), enjoy your stay here on the forum :)

Welcome! Life with two Quakers will be anything but dull :D. In general, Quaker parrots are quite intelligent, extremely curious and inquisitive, and just loaded with personality and attitude.

Another good book is Mattie Sue Athan's Guide to the Quaker Parrot.

All the best to you and your two new companions!
