Hallo I moved to The Barossa South Australia a few months ago. When I went to register for the doctor I was standing on the corner waiting for a bus and heard this cheeping at my feet. There was this beautiful parrot later learning a Rainbow Lorikeet in distress. I tried to pick it up someone saw over the road and brought a box and we put him/her in I brought him home and put him in a small aviary left since my budgie got out. Budgie was old going on the floor I pushed him outside scraped the fence not realising it has loosed the door and when I went out he was gone. I saw him playing with the finches in the tree opposite - and I was HAPPY - that he spent his final time free and happy.
Now I have this lovely lorikeet and he is making a lovely pet -
God Bless All

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to the forums! Thank you for rescuing the Lorikeet. I believe they require a special nectar-based diet?
