Help me please

Can anyone help me please Im worried that my baby ringneck will hate me for rest of he's life he is 4 months old wild never been handled or handfeed I had him for a week now it's sad cos I can't go near him he just don't allow me to approach him he just scream and fligh away today he ran out of hes cage and he didn't want to go back in I had to switch the light off and towel him he's been screaming and he's head piped out from under the towel he was looking at me and screaming I put him in the cage and now he just sat down quality and every time I walk past the cage he just screams my heart is broken when I see him like this I want him to love me no hate me
Please someone help me I need advice how to start taming him

Welcome! Lots of bird-lovers here to help you out. While you're having a look around, you can take any issue or topic which interests you, use the Search Tab and then read about it. It's a really good engine.
We will stick with you. Love will find a way. For now, maybe leave the bird in the cage... sit nearby, offer treats, speak softly...

A couple of points that will get you started until a RingNeck Owner comes on to share some wisdom.

The vast majority of Parrots will allow a 'restart' with a relationship.

Some general points: Its NEVER the fault of the Parrot! It is ALWAYS the fault of the Human. Starting from this vantage point will allow you to more quickly understand what you are doing wrong and correct it!

Work at the comfort rate of your Parrot!

Only good things happen when you are around!

I'm a strong believer in reading to your Parrot. Once again, the vast majority of Parrot Love to be read to. This will allow you to be next to your Parrot, (sitting next to their cage, etc...) and your parrot becomes comfortable with your voice and presents.

This will get you started!

Welcome to the forums, thanks for joining!!

Hopefully a member(s) with IRN experience can help you. You've had him for a week, which is still pretty much new, particularly for a wild bird. He may need a bit more time just to feel safe.

Hi, welcome to the forums. Congratulations on your new family member. I have no experience with IRN's but four months is still very young for any species. Some birds have no problem transitioning to a new home, others need more time to process everything that's new to them. I'm sure our IRN experts can give you more specific information. I have no exp with IRN but something I have found to be generally true.
When you towel a bird it's the TOWEL that's the bad guy not the person the is using the towel. If you have to use a towel use it. Give your bird some special treat right afterwords.

I have had my YNA for more that 30 years and I still have to use a towel on him. Any hard feeling go are forgotten in a few hours.

As far as taming goes it takes time. Don't force it on the bird, go at his pace.
I have a cockatiel that took 2 years to earn her trust.

Wild even wild baby parrots could take a long time to settle in and learn that only good things come from you. Treats especially. Here is a good exercise. Walk into the room. Approach the cage right to the point where the bird gets upset. Take 2 steps back. Wait 10-15 minutes. Walk forward until the bird gets upset, take 2 steps back. Repeat unitl he is cool with you near the cage, at that point offer him treats. This might take a few hours. DO the same exercise the next day and the next etc, until he is cool with you appraching the cage. Dont make direct eye contact, and move slowly.
