Hello to you and your beautiful birds :). I see they're unclipped, un-harnessed, and outdoors. I'm simply just curious as to your ideas about this. The risk? I'm not trying to start any controversy here, just genuinely wondering.

Well my military I've had my whole life, literally. We know and understand one another. He wouldn't leave me anymore than I would leave him. My severe is a rescue and suffered major wing trauma and can't fly.
My greenwing can fly very well but he is very food motivated and also likes the Lego movie. Always returns for those. Yes there is risk in all things but to fulfil my flocks needs as best I can I will take a such a risk in a low stimulation environment. The bonus for this is a mellow flock. They trust me and I them.

My birds are not easily spooked. We have moved a lot and I expose them to has much as possible. Cars honking don't spook them. I just try to properly socialize them to new simulation.

My severe was very easily spooked when she first joined us... soon she discovered she likes the movie "Die hard with a vengeance" her fav movie. Soon she began to get excited about cars honking and other sounds.

I know this isn't everyone's way. But I have happy birds for this way of living with my flock.

Beautiful picture of your flock. How do they all get along? I'd love to own a colorful flock of macs someday.
