HI there . I am an eager to learn new conure owner , less than 2'years. I have a happy 3, one pair and a single who all have grown close in 6 months. I jut adopted another pair and I am seeking advice to introduce and limit fighting. I've quarantined and allowed the newbies to get used to us and the noise etc. Jazzy female is more friendly and relaxed, Ozzie is young 10 months but skittish but seems aggressive when I have any of my other birds near, the cage. my Three musketeers Paulie and Sunny bonded pair, plus Rocky , 6 month ol. Are curious but I see some tension arising . What's the best way to introduce? Let the newbies get comfy with me first and keep, them all seperate? As in cages at seperate times. Let them get to know one on one. .? My first three are out most of the day, but good at being in their cage when others are out, but watching. One landed on the newbies cage and Ozzie went nuts biting his feet, so I am :rainbow1:wary. Thoughts.?:red1::green1::greenyellow::green2:

Welcome to Parrot Forums!

Thank-you for the quarantine practices!

We are a single Parrot home and can only pass along some general concerns when you add more Parrots: There will be disagreements that can build to dangerous levels! This commonly result in separation and limited out of cage times with only those members that get along with each other. And even then, you have to be very watchful at all times!

Please remember that you will need to address your raising costs of Avian Vet care as you increase the size of your flock! That is also true for everything related to the care of your flock including the demand for your time!

Enjoy!

Welcome to the forums, thanks for joining!!

I am not very familiar with conures, so others can give better specific advice. My feeling is to first ensure the newbies are comfortable with you as you will be doing the introduction and refereeing. Gradually introducing them in cages is a first step.

Nice flock you have there. Welcome to the forums. Not much experience with conures but my favorite is the GCC.

Single parrot home here. I will say that I am friends with somebody with multiple parrot syndrome and she is very careful to keep her birds seperated (she has 10 parrots). They can kill eachother or bite a toe off in the blink of an eye and it's really not worth it. I would keep them apart and spend time with them individually.
