Hello, everyone! I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I have two parakeets; Molongo, and Minindi. I had a cockatiel shipped to me a little over a month ago and he sadly passed away as the breeder didn't take many precautions to keep him safe on the flight :(( I miss him a lot. Anyways, I just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. :blue2::greenyellow:

welcome, sorry about your loss I've never had a bird shipped to me I don't even .....I don't really think that's even a thing...maybe I just don't know unless they literally hired a courier.

To be honest I'm piqued how was he planning on shipping a bird to you and......yeah how.....

In the uk there are couriers who specialise in this. I wouldnt put a bird through the stress though, personally.

Welcome by the way, sorry for your loss :(

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to the forums, sorry for your loss of a cockatiel.

While many successfully ship by air as freight, it is not something I'd feel comfortable doing. The safest way to ship by airline is as a pet in cabin with a human.

You’re welcome here! Many ship safely but like everything else nothing is foolproof. Hope all is well with you and the budgies. We love budgies!
