I had a cockateil for 6 months which I bought when it was a month old. It got scared and flew away for the sound of the calling bell recently. I'm grieving over it's loss and I wanted her back so badly. So my dad bought me a new baby cockateil. It's around 3 weeks old. It's been 24 hrs and it won't eat. I have a multigrain flour which I tried feeding it with a syringe but it won't eat. It's not begging for food either. When I force the food into it's mouth, it sneezes. I'm scared. How to feed him when he is not asking for food?? :yellow1:

I'm a little confused and a little scared on your behalf... I'd recommend you return the 'tiel to his or her breeder because it sounds like he or she isn't fully weaned. You can kill a baby bird if you're not feeding it correctly (i.e. if it goes down their airway instead of their throat, they can suffocate or develop pneumonia). I hope you get the help you need.

You need to return this baby to the breeder so it can continue hand-feeding with someone who has the proper knowledge of doing so. It sounds like you are not experienced enough and the baby could end up dying. Again, please return the baby to the breeder so it can be fed and weaned before you take it back.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEAS listen to what these folks are telling you. DO IT TOMORROW , ASAP. BEG your Dad to help. Your baby is going to die from not eating or being fed incorrectly. You sound like a concerned owner, I am sure you do not want this baby cockateils death on your conscience.

Follow the advice people are giving you! This baby bird is in serious danger of dying! He/she is probably starving or sick right now. The food you’re feeding him is probably not good either! Return this bird to the breeder ASAP, you don’t sound experienced and the baby is starving! If you don’t listen to all this great advice people are giving you, you can KILL your baby!

take the baby back to the breeder and make them do their job! We may sound like we're all nagging but yes the baby will die, I wouldn't even wait until tomorrow, I'd go now.

Remember you are paying the breeder to breed the bird so why should you have to do the work in regards to weaning them? That's a pretty key part of breeding
