In the process of adopting a Citron Cockatoo
Hi! I'm new here and soon to be the new parent of a 24 year old female citron cockatoo named Reno. I volunteer on weekends at a humane society type of organization for parrots and this little girl captured my heart on day one. I joined this site to learn more from those with experience and to share my stories as Reno joins my family. :white1:

Hello and welcome!
Thank you so much for bringing an older bird into your home, so many need homes:) When will Reno be joining the family?
I'm so excited for you and looking forward to hearing all about your journey together.

Budgies escaped :( Getting a cockatiel!!
I’m very happy for you! :) Keeping a bird is amazing, make sure you do have lots of toys to play with. And let it out the cage everyonce and a while, but don’t do it until Reno is Finger-Tamed and can step onto your finger. It may take awahile, but it’s worth it in the end.

Hello My New Bird Loving Friends! So happy to have found this site and thanks so much for the warm welcome.
Tomorrow (7/5) I'll be picking up Reno's cage and her accessories (perches, food, more toys, etc.). I also have an order from Amazon arriving tomorrow for a bell toy, boing, and a large wood toy. I'll be ordering a play stand for her too so she can move room to room with me or join me on the screened porch. I'm so excited for her to come home!
