Greetings to everyone! My name is Bill and I am 18 years of age. I come from Greece and I own a female African Grey Parrot and her name is Haiiro. She lives with me and my family for the past one year and we really really love having her in! Although loving her we face a lot of problems with her as everyone except me is afraid of her because she bites too much. Thanks for your time!:red1::red1::red1:

Welcome to the forums, Bill!! You've had Haiiro long enough to be past the introductory or "honeymoon" phase, so her behaviors are well expressed at this point.

Greys are not always the most affectionate and frequently have a preferred person. That said, biting is not going to improve her relationship with your family. Thankfully, greys are among the most intelligent of parrots and can respond well to conditioning. Haiiro is likely biting to "control" her environment.

Finally, this thread was written about macaws, but the principles apply to most parrots! http://www.parrotforums.com/macaws/56384-big-beak-o-phobes-guide-understanding-macaw-beaks.html

Good luck, let us know if any of this advice proves helpful!

Sure! Haiiro was love at first sight! My parents and I went to a breeder who had 4 baby african grey parrots. The one I liked the most was Haiiro. We went there again and again just to decide which one we'd get and we decided to bring the one I adored from the first time we went there! And thats pretty much how this cute little parrot became a member of our family! Nothing special but it still meant a lot for us!
