Queen Bavarian Conure
Have had birds all my life. I just purchased a new bird baby. He?is a three-month old Queen Bavarian Golden Conure. I get him in three weeks from now. I go to him everyday to bond and play with him. Already have his cages set up. Looking forward to getting him to his new home.

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Welcome here :)

LOL, your new parrot really peaked my curiosity, since "Bavaria" is one of our largest brewers/beerbrands-
so now I expect an overall golden parrot with a nice white frothy head and a bubbly personality! ;)

Been here a few months myself and still cheat with the pictures: I just put them up on imgur(.com) - it's free and supereasy- and just copy-paste the link here.

Welcome to the community! And what a beautiful Golden Conure. We're seeing more and more of these guys lately, they are becoming quite popular as companion parrots. I'm glad you're going over to the breeder's place and spending time with him, that's awesome.

If you have any questions at all, please never hesitate to ask them.

Welcome and be welcomed. I believe the Goldens loose the green in their feathers as they mature.....Correct? They are super expensive up in the N.E. of the US. Beautiful bird, either way. How is his tempermeant?

They're my favorite bird, plumage-wise. They just enchant me! I'm already a fan.

Are we dreaming up names? :)

I've always loved the way Golden Conures smell. :D They have a delightfully sweet natural odor that I just love! That, and their charming personalities make them absolutely wonderful birds!

Welcome to you and your new friend! I am new to the forum myself, and I really enjoy being a part of this group.

Thank you all for the wonderfully warm welcome. My Golden Conure{His name is Muffin}is beautiful and very sweet. Not vocalizing a lot yet but does growl at me if I don't stroke his head and under his wings and hold him close to my chest. He is still being weaned so I won't get him for about two or more weeks. I have his cage, his carrier and his toys already set up in the most active area of my home. Yes, he will eventually lose the green on his head and become golden yellow apart from his wing flight feathers. Yes, they are expensive and they have similar personalities to a Macaw. They were once thought to be in the Macaw family but have been relocated to the conure family. I have a lot of experience with Macaws so I am looking forward to getting him home soon. I am going tomorrow for several hours to just play with him and hold him. It is wonderful to know that there are so many of you that responded to welcoming me to this forum. Thank you very much.

Yes, I had a blue and Gold Macaw, Green Winged and a Hyacinth Macaw. I had them for more than twenty years but had to scale down because I had a partner who passed away from cancer and it was too much for me to continue to have them so they went to other members of my family and they are very happy in their new homes. I have been without a bird for about five years and I thought a smaller bird was a good choice and I have much more time because I am newly retired. I will also train him to be a bit more portable than a large Macaw.
