X2 Sun Conures. Hatched about 25th September, not sure what sex there are, hand feeding both.
Wanted to join a reputed parrot forum because I have recently acquired x2 5-8 day old sun conures, not sure what sex they are but doesn’t matter at this stage.

Have hand fed them over the last month and I think they are doing well, am bonding well with both but would be interested in hearing when is best to give solid food and put them into a wired cage, any help out there?.

Thanks again, I have had an aviary in UK with exotic birds but never hand reared Conures, it has been fulfilling to say the least, check out some of my pics, sorry they are ‘on the side’ but they left here normal pictures!!

1) I pulled some special strings to let you join, you can thank me....:gcc:

2) WAIT WHAT your birds are not weened before you got them?

3) yeah when you use a cell phone it turns them sideways best fix is to get an app the corrects them or putting them on your computer first and rotating them proper.

4) WHO SOLD YOU UNWEENED BABBY PARROTS?

You are not at fault sounds like your doing an outstanding job but this is not how birds are adopted unless maybe breeder to breeder?...and even then.

Some very smart very experienced breeders will be on in a bit and will tell you everything you need to know.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to you and your young Suns!

I presume you have abundant handfeeding skills from your aviary experience but seek advice specific to conures?

Welcome!

Most of us here get a little jumpy when we hear unweaned babies are being bought because we have seen so many tragedies. But if you got them at a week or less old and they are still alive you clearly are handling things just fine. I have fed baby conures that young and I DO NOT enjoy it!

Start offering lots of veggies, sprouts, and pellets now along with lots of toys. Hold off on seeds and fruits until they are eating the others really well.
