RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
A warm welcome to you and your aspirations!

Parrots can be a wonderful part of the family. Much depends on your living situation, age of children, and expectations for a unique companion.

Hi, glad you joined the conversation.
Two love birds together have been known to bond so closely and exclude the people. If you choose to get on it's very important to get one hand raised, and handled a lot by the breeders.. it's a 25 year commitment for the kids, so hopefully it's a bird you want as well, and plan to keep when the kids move out :)

Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Welcome
(lol @ americans and their obsession with handraised... get one young enough and spend a lot of time with it. I do not think you will find a respectable breeder here that will still do that to a baby with all the new laws and all.)
