Hello my name is Scott , I live with two amazing parrot's there name's are Apollo ( CAG ) 27 months old and Kona ( Pineapple conure ) 23 months old. We reside in SoCal and enjoy getting outside with our aviator harness's daily for a good dose of sunshine, ( the birds of course) they don't make one big enough for my large carcass and a good thing cuz they'd be walking me. We normally end up at our local park and practice recall training and the boys show off for the family's that also use the park. They are both full flighted and I get to enjoy an air show every day in the house. The little guy Kona is quite the accomplished bowler and has a handful of other tricks plus quite a vocabulary. Apollo also has many tricks , turn around , big wings, shake hands, wave, barks like a dog and crow's on cue. He also comes when I whistle like I'm calling the dogs and the big one he whistles the entire Andy Griffith tune. He seems to be a late bloomer with the late vocabulary as he has just learned Hello , good boy and what? . We'll see where that all goes but no matter they are incredible. I will post pics of them once I figure out how its done here.

Not all greys are great talkers, some do more sounds. Ech parrot is different and an individual. My Amazon talks a lot for a 'zon plays on his back a lot. Neither are typical ;zon behaviour.

Wrench13, your right their not all great talkers and I'm ok with that. He sure makes up for any loss in that dept. with many other skills. My first Grey was one I would put up there with any of the really great talkers of the last 20 years . Absolutely Amazing, but one morning I got up to his squawking and morning antics to make him breakfast and when I got to the kitchen he was lifeless against his food dish . He would be 22 this year , he was 10 when he passed . I never DNA'd him but vet checks were yearly and always good so maybe he was a she and was egg bound or possibly heart related , not sure. There just wasn't the tech or info we have today . A devastating loss is putting it mildly.

Thanks all, Yes they are a blast and are included in as much of my life as possible, I truly enjoy the response from people when were outdoors and people cant believe how well behaved they are but even more how a harness can be used to get your bird outside and enjoying the outdoors together. I do realize its more scary for the older birds to learn to be on a harness but still very important and really only about US putting in the time with them to make it fun.

Welcome to you and Apollo and Kona! I echo the request for pics :). There’s a good thread on how to post pictures if you do a search (can’t remember offhand where it is).
