Re: What makes an effective post?

For me a trip to my local CAV is not long, about 20 min.
But it's a double edged sward.
Is it worth the stress for the bird in question for the trip and the...extra handling just to hear the same old same old (what I usually get from my vet)?
OR is it better to watch and wait to see if I have a real problem or not.

anyway good thread and many good points.
This form has been the kindest one I have ever been a member of and proud to be a member.

Terr, the points you raise are so very important, because that kind of consideration makes all the difference when it comes to maintaining a positive and uplifting atmosphere for everyone. Thank you for writing this up, my friend.

QUOTE=texsize "Is it worth the stress for the bird in question for the trip and the...OR is it better to watch and wait to see if I have a real problem or not." This is a great question and most certainly requires deep reflection! I do know that birds will usually present visible signs/symptoms of an illness long after the onset of a particular problem. Perhaps this is why many take their fids to the CAV for 'wellness checkups'.

And... I agree with you texsize: "This forum has been the kindest one I have ever been a member of and proud to be a member."

Kind Regards,
Debbie

Bloody brilliantly Terry. Thank you and the mod team for everything you do!

How do I like this 100 times over? I know for a fact that some of the posting practices over the last year or two have actually suppressed participation, though the diversity of participants has increased. Allee, you nailed it on the head.
