Jasper (Congo grey or African grey)
Hello, my name is Kay, I'm new here and a new parent to Jasper (African grey Parrot) I have already found some great information on here and I know I am going to need lots of advise,

Sadly a dear friend of ours died, we promised him we would take care of Jasper and now Jasper has been with us for two weeks. he seems to have settled in well, he is talking and eating well.

This is Jasper, he is 15 years old :D

Jasper is gorgeous! He looks so sweet and healthy. Being all fluffed up like that, looks like he is happy also. Well done! I hope you find plenty of friends, help and fun here.

Welcome Welcome!!

Welcome and be welcomed. Jasper is very obviously happy and healthy - bright of eye and fully feathered. Grays who are not tend to pluck fethers and loose that inquisitive eye. Thanks for taking him in, and honoring your friends wishes.

Hello and welcome, Kay! I’m so very sorry for the loss of your friend and Jasper’s parront. It’s a very kind thing you’re doing, Jasper’s a beautiful boy, I hope you can help each other through the sad days still ahead. African Greys are scary smart, I know you’ll be able to form strong bonds of your own.

Welcome Kay and Jasper! I am sorry he came to you via unfortunate circumstances.

Have you much experience with parrots and greys in particular? We can tailor responses to meet your needs.

What a beautiful boy Jasper is. I’m glad he has a safe place to land after the passing of his owner. Have you ever owned birds before? If not, you’re in for a lot of surprises as he opens up more and let’s on to how smart he really is:D

Thanks Scott, I have had experience with many different types of birds, but not greys or parrots, so I am reading everything I can find, but what worries me is not all information on the internet is correct, I feel better hearing from people who actually have greys !!
