Do you mean right in your actual living quarters where all the family action is? If so, No. Greys are very cautious when it comes to breeding. They need solitude and quiet.

If you have pet CAGs that are breeding you are very lucky, as greycloud said most need to be completely isolated to breed. However if this is their first clutch then infertile eggs are not uncommon, it usually takes them a few trys to get it right.

Hey Poppy, Yes i have about 40 mostly Amazons and a pair of TAGs, I Breed Amazons, and take in a few rescues (not to rehome) and have 5 pets that are not breeders(4 YN,1 Panama) If you are having infertile eggs there can be several reasons, have they been DNA'd ? Has your male every been lapiscopicaly examined? ( Is there a tatoo at the bend of the wing ?) Is he banded? What age?

I Keep timneh greys x 3 pairs, 2 pairs quaker parrots, 2 pairs senegal parrots, 1 pair of green cheek conures, 2 pairs of kakarikis, 6 pairs cockateils,1 very large pair of mealy amazons, and 1 congo
Hi my congo was bred and parent reared in the same situation. The lady who I got peggy from had a female as a pet and then she bought a male in for company. After a few months they then decided to put a nest box up and they had a clutch that was infertile, after then hen left them she threw them out of the box a few months later she laid a clutch of 4 and hatched them all the parents reared them all to independence. The pair have continued to breed indoors and are still going. It shocked me very much I really did not think that they would have bred but yes they did.

If the weather is hot I always spray my boxes in the morning and mid afternoon. I would spray the nest box with a mist perhaps a couple of times a day, I would keep a bowl of water for the birds to bath in they will know if they need to add some humidity to the nest. Have you worked out when they would be due? what do you plan to do hand rear or parent rear?

Mine are in the boxes at the moment so fingers crossed. My birds are really hit and miss sometime they will demolish certain food and then another time they will ignore it I always mix sweetcorn in with egg food and mash it together. If a pair of my birds are reluctant I will hold back their fruit and veg so they will try the eggfood and then I will mash their other fruit and veg and mix it with the egg food. If I just mix their fruit and veg with the eggfood first they pick out the bits what they want and ignore the egg food. so that is why I hold their favorites back. In the cold weather like this I make up a batch of mixed rice and pulses and give them a nice warm portion they all have a little go at it but it makes me feel better lol.
