First thing first, this is my first time want to learn and maybe keeping the parrot as a pet. So many things that I need to consider if I want to keep it. My friend owned the parrot for like the rest of her life and the parrot still strong and entertaining. I feel like the parrot can be considered as lifetime pet/partner if keeping it the right way. Sorry if my English not good. Thanks

Welcome! Your English is just fine :). There are lots of sub forums where you can learn about the different parrot species. Parrots are definitely a lifetime commitment, and they involve lots of lifestyle changes for us humans that want to live with them. Are you interested in a specific type of parrot, or just learning in general?

Yep, there are many breed of parrot, I don't make any final decision yet. Since lately my life is a bit change, what I mean busy with working days and I think I will not have a proper time at home. Until I re-schedule my working life then it is time to study more about the parrot. I'm thinking about the Cockatiels when the right time comes.

Good to consider your available time before adopting a bird. You almost cannot go wrong with a cockatiel, extraordinarily popular and adaptable to captivity.

I can witness that a parrot can be a lifelong relationship. I got mine when I was in college, and I'm now retired.

Good for you for joining and reaching out!
