I sure don't mean to be here under false pretenses, but I'd googled for information about parrots and hemp rope and found this site... with someone asking about using hemp for tying branches onto the roof of his car, branches that would be used for his parrots. So I'm reading the thread and further on someone mentions sisal.
Well, here's the thing: I've been trying to find out something--anything--about this lithograph I have. It is by Gene Murray, signed, numbered, framed; and shows two parrots :blue::red: looking at each other while sitting on a branch, and over the branch is a loop of rope. I had assumed hemp, but now think maybe sisal.
If I put a photo on here of this picture, can someone tell if it is hemp or sisal by looking at it? Would this even be allowed on this site? I am parrotless myself, but love them and visit them in pet shops. Should I put up the photo and see if anyone recognizes the type of parrot, as well as the type of rope? And is there any significance to having parrots pictured with rope of any kind?

Hello Betsy and welcome to the ParrotForums.

You don't need to own a parrot to be a member.

If you love parrots and would like to know more about them, this is a very good place to be.

Sure, share your image and maybe someone will be able to identify the rope and the parrots.

Thank you for joining and for your honesty.

Welcome-- yes post the image!

Here is the best way that I have found to post images without having to worry about fancy coding or space limits:

If you click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the page (in blue, where is says: "Welcome betsyWNY") it will take you to your profile. Click on the "Statistics"tab and then click on "Albums Created by betsyWNY" . Once you are there, scroll down until you see "add album".
Create a title and description (e.g., mystery parrot lithograph), select public and click submit. You will then see a hyperlink that says: "Click here to upload photos". Click it and upload the image from your computer. Hit save changes once you review the captions.
After this, if you want to post it on a thread, click the uploaded thumbnail in your album. This will take you to a larger view of the uploaded image. Scroll down below the image and copy the 2nd URL code at the next to the descriptor "BBCODE".
Once the code is copied, come back to this thread and click reply. Your message box will pop-up and you will want to click the yellow mountain image at the top of the text box. Paste the BB code into the pop-up that says "paste the URL of your image". Paste the BB code directly over any existing text in the pop-up and then save your post. I just followed this process to post the image below. This is my bird dressing up as a sulpher crested cockatoo :)
