A Quaker parrot, purchased 2/8/2020, returned 4/25
2 Budgies acquired 4/25
Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself and express my gratitude for finding this forum. I was dying for community to learn from since I know in the long run I have a LOT to learn and I can't do it all myself. When I was a kid, I had parakeets, but always wanted a parrot, so here he's finally here: Nigel Aleister Kensington III.

Judging by his size, he's maybe a little older than would be ideal for taming, so I guess it may take some time, but the pet shop I got him from advertised captive birds only if that makes a difference. I'm entirely new to this.

Anyway glad to be here and to meet everyone!

I'll post a picture when I can :)

Congratulations! Woot woot!
Quakers are social. If he developed fear if hands at the pet store, you will be able to overcome, with time, and bribes, and spending time bonding.

I've written a lot for other new Quaker people
:) So I'll probably link those for you.

If your guy is or becomes cage agressive, that's ok, that's they way they are. Just let them out for cleaning and feeding. Sometimes mine are ok with me putting good or water in , sometimes they run to bite me. But out of the cage my three are very loving.
I hope you will be very happy with your new guy, and out in the time , energy, and love, for his mind body, and spirit.

Welcome and Congratulations.

We are also the proud new parents to a baby Quaker, but we got a little to go before he is ready to come home yet.

Really hope to hear how you make out, maybe even compare notes.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to you and Nigel! Thanks for joining and sharing the journey. We have a fair number of Quaker servants and much archived information.
