Hello all, nice to meet everyone.
I am May and I am from Toronto, Canada. I dont have much experience with birds, but have been looking at getting one for a number of years. I moved out of my parents house (a house of 4 dogs) and finally decided to get a bird. After much searching on the rehoming side, I found a little Lovebird that had stolen my heart.
So my little rascal is Zazu, he is a baby 6 month old "peach-faced but not really" Lovebird. He is a mix of 3 different colorations (Lutino, Dutch blue and Nyasa), but I love how confused be makes people and how he has a stripe across his peach face. He has been giving me a great deal of difficulty as a new and inexperienced owner but he has a hilarious personality that I can't help but love him over.
While he is a fantastic talker and apparently handled by his previous owner, he is absolutely terrified of hands and interacting with humans and even stepping up has been a huge issue (target training is fine though). Not sure if that counts as tame or not. I look forward to everyone's advice and sharing this journey I am going on with him.
