Bob - a Cockatiel;
Cricket - an American Budgie
I would like to get a small mammal to spend time with my tiel. Prefrably something that can share a cage with Bob (this seems unlikely). Idealy sugar gliders.

My sister had a 'tiel that was best friends w/a rabbit. The 'tiel would sometimes go down & get in the cage w/her. When the rabbit died, the tiel screamed constantly. She had other rabbits, but it was his rabbit. It was very sad.

I agree bunnies are great for that, make sure you get a young one though to start socializing with the bird right away. I have an old bunny (Lola) & she doesn't like my goffin at all!! lol
But remember with bunnies their lifespan is WAY shorter then the bird, any small animal's lifespan is really.
Don't get a guinea pig, they are scared of everything! lol

I do have two cats -Riply & Nano bites-
four snakes- china, dip & stick, and Grand Chahee-
one of my coworkers has a teal who loves only guinea pigs, its crazy, the bird sleeps in the cage with them, and if she trys to separate them, both the guinea pig and teal scream until they can sit side by side again. (sometimes the bird rides the guinea pig, if they are running around the livingroom)
