Cello got his teeth floated, being he's only 14.3 hands and just under 1,000 pounds the vet thought that one dose of sedation would be needed, but as soon as he tried to float the teeth he realized that he needed more... soooo this left poor Cello in a pretty drunk state of mind. While the vet was working on him he lost his balance a few times and I went to "catch" him. I laughed at myself and said, "Oh yeah, like I could really break your fall." So after the vet was done Cello sat in the corner of the wash stall, after about 20 minutes I was finally able to move him into a stall. My poor boy, but now he has pretty teeth. :) (Note the angle of the picture makes him look much smaller than he is.)

How many dings did you get from that procedure? Beautiful boy. Thats about the size of my baby. I lost her, she was hit by a car XMAS eve, years back. Foundation bred quarter horse, she was almost wider that she was tall. I couldnt have caught her when she was a little baby.

I think he was afraid of falling over. He almost did twice on the way to the stall, and then tripped when he got in. Sedating horses is always so scary, but they somehow always keep their balance.

He is a very pretty TWH. Reminds me of the Saddlebred i had when i was younger. He loved the vet. When he seen the vet's truck pull up he would neigh to him. I realy think he enjoyed getting the "sleepy shots" lol. Thanks for the pics I enjoyed them very much.

yepp its when they file them down to make sure thy aren't getting misshapen. if they are it can be VERY painful for them to eat and they will stop eating. some horses need it some don't my QH mare has never had her teeth floated but she is only 6 likely and will likely need them done when she gets older (most old horses need their teeth done)

Like most of us, he sure looks better sober! :) Tell him he has my sympathy, whenever I get novacaine at the dentist, I am fine while I am there, but need a nap as soon as I get home, it just wipes me out! I'm sure he felt better after a long nap, too!
