I work at Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement, we are the only "rescue" farm that takes in stallions in the United States and we currently have 126 horses. Falcon Scott was one of them. He was donated by a very wealthy, well known man in the horse racing industry. I fell in love with this horse at first sight, didn't know a thing about him. He was this young & full of himself bay stallion with an awkward blaze and 3 white socks. He was super sweet and had quite the personality. I spent every day with this horse and grew more & more attached to him. We don't usually adopt out so I just never thought he would ever be mine. The farm owner & I were in the office talking one day when I mentioned that I would love to have Falcon. He was young and retired sound, no injuries. He looked at me and said "I'd let you have him for free, let me talk to Jerry(the owner that donated him) and run the idea past him." Anyways, Jerry thought it was a good idea and Falcon was scheduled to be gelded (neutered) and when he was done recovering ..... he could come home with me. Turns out I have very good taste in horses, he was never a great race horse, only made $68,000 but he has quite the pedigree. He is half brother to Giacomo & Tiago and he comes from the same farm as Zenyatta :) I love this horse to pieces. I'd like to introduce Falcon, my fashionable 9 year old Thoroughbred gelding.

He looks good in zebra print :)

He didn't know I was watching him boss the other horse around, caught him off guard

This is my favorite picture of him

He is gorgeous! He's got quite a neck on him! And he looks quite snazzy in his blanket, it's funny a friend of mine has a lime green zebra print one just like that :p Do you have any plans to show him or is he just a pleasure horse?

He is being trained in dressage and is doing quite well so far. The first time he was ever under saddle (off track) he actually started doing a backwards piaffe on his own when trying to get him to stop, lol. We have a clinic on Saturday so I should have better action pics of him then, he moves really pretty. I am a zebra fanatic and the stable owner makes fun of Falcon because of his zebra gear. I'm sure he'll be the only horse rocking zebra polo's at the clinic :) I'm about to order him a giraffe print one, the zebra one is a muddy mess now.

Gorgeous, I love horses! If I ever owned land and such I would definitely have to have a couple. Grats!

Thank you. I think he's pretty handsome too but his personality is his best feature. Even when he was still a stallion, he was the most gentle horse I have ever been in contact with. I trusted letting little kids pet him and feed him on tours of the other farm and it's like he knew he had to be extra gentle with them. Riding a horse is probably the best feeling in the world, putting your trust in a 1200+ lb animal is the toughest part. Getting on Falcon for the first time was nerve wracking because he is a big horse and he was off the track for 1 1/2 years without being trained at all so I had no idea what to expect when I mounted him that first time. He was a superstar though :) He is so smart and picks up on everything really fast.

And grooming a horse has got to be the best medicine for a bad day.

My Thoroughbred absolutely loves Dressage, too, and is quite the pretty mover. He got up to third level even though I only got up to second level myself. The first time I got him to do a canter pirhouette I was so thrilled it was like being on some kind of drug, lol!

I just love Thoroughbreds! They are always so willing to work and truly a Cadillac to ride. Of course I love all horses but have a special place in my heart for TBs and Appaloosas.

He is a beautiful horse and I'm sure if I knew him, I'd fall in love with him, too.

They really are great horses. I too, love all horses but I will only own OTTB's. They try so hard to please and they just love people.
