I have quite a few pets, many of them are rescues, as my fiance and I both love all animals and can't stand to see anything suffer if we can help it. I figured I would share with you guys some pictures of my non-feathered friends, as I just updated my Photobucket and am in a picture- posting mood. :)

Bear with me, there are a lot of them. LOL

This is Trigger, he's a Bengal and my little guardian. He is always by my side and cuddles me when I'm sad or sick

Awesome little zoo you have there. Rory is my favorite. LOVE hearing of rescue stories, especially with Bully breeds. It's just fantastic you're taking care of all the sweet cats the way you do. Now may I ask how Rory gets along with the cats? And how do the cats along with the feathered friends?

How are you able to own those snakes!?
Where I'm from, reticulated pythons are illegal and you aren't allowed to own any poisonous snakes, and you have vipers!

Thanks guys...sorry it took so long to respond. For some reason it was displaying as no new posts in this section on my computer...stupid technology.

I live in PA, where venomous snakes are legal. I do have a mentor who is continuing to work with me to hone my skills and expose me to different species that are less common.
Rory gets along great with my cats...in fact she loves to snuggle up with them and sleep in a pile. Sooo cute. She is AWFUL with the birds though. She whines, and drools and fixates until I have to remove her from the room to break her focus. It is something that I hope she gets over- it took a few months for her to stop darting after cats when they ran by (she got beat up a few times and learned), but for now she goes upstairs when the birds come out. I see her starting to calm down a bit around the cages though, so it should be ok. I give her lots of encouragement when she is behaving, and scolding when she fixates. Bully breeds have amazing concentration and can be very very stubborn, almost to the point of insanity, so when they fixate/obsess over something it can be very tricky to break their focus. Rory will probably never be able to be trusted around the birds, but I want to get her to where I can have the birds out with me without having to lock my dog up in another room.

I think I did post at least one picture of a snake eating. I love feeding day, because they know what time it is, and they get so excited and come out to the fronts of their cages. Vipers are especially fun to feed; they have such scary fangs, and when they are done swallowing, they yawn wide to readjust their jaws and stretch those fangs for me to see. It's fascinating. I am very fortunate to have well-behaved snakes for the most part. I keep a few more defensive, bitey species...my tiger rat snake thinks she is a cobra, and the bush vipers are vile little buggers, but even those aren't too bad for their species and they are consistent so it's not tremendously difficult to learn their behavior and know what to look out for.
Others, like the big Burmese python, are complete puppy dog snakes, docile and laid-back and very enjoyable to hold.

haha, Adina...everyone thinks I'm nuts. :p I don't mind though,....I AM nuts and enjoy it. What kind of cornsnake do you have? I used to keep them; they are very pretty but man they are messy.

Oh, I do not milk the venomous snakes. Venom facilities in the US have to be licensed by the USDA and adhere to stringent standards of housing for the snakes, milking techniques and production levels. It also is amazing how much venom is actually required for antivenin production- for most species, upwards of 20-40 animals need to be milked to produce a single vial of antivenin. I cannot possibly keep that many, nor do I particularly want to. The animals I keep, I keep for my enjoyment and enrichment. They are not pets though- no venomous snake can really be considered a "pet." They are more like my own private zoo. Pets are tame, and can give affection; they are not wild animals acting on instinct that have the ability to end or permanently change your life in one split second. I do really enjoy their presence though; they are amazing creatures with interesting, very complex physiology.

ROFLMAO

I know EXACTLY what you're saying about Bullies being stubborn, and how they can fixate on things. My Ziva was OBSESSED with chipmonks when they were running around, and currently it's crickets. :54:

Thanks for the additional pictures. Truly gorgeous animals!!!

Wow!

Your snake collection is amazing, they are stunning, especially Trogdor. I'd try to put him in a very large purse and sneak out of your house....a very very large purse lol.

I had troubles with my nosy be panther chameleon with humidity, is it difficult to maintain with your emerald tree boa as well?
