Gilbert Oliver, Blue Crown Conure; Georgie, Sun Conure (2/8/01-8/8/12) RIP little girl; Percy, budgie 1993-1999. RIP Pepito-spanish timbrado canary
Just a random observation around my kitchen island:
No one should own a parrot without at least one dog. I mean, gross as it sounds, how awesome is it to have these little voracious scavengers cleaning the floor?? Piece of tofu flies by. Don't worry, Pinto ate it. Carrot flies across kitchen, all three dogs fight over it. I mean, it's totally natural right? :) Really saves on waste and clean up. teehee

So true! Along that line, I know someone who enclosed his entire back yard, creating a giant aviary, and then bought chickens to clean up the food tossed down by the parrots.

Ha ha that is true. My dog has figured out that birds equal food being dropped on the floor. Other then that he wants nothing to do with birds.
We picked the two pet species that want and need our attention the most.

Lol, I couldn't agree more! My Teddy has visibly gained weight since Rosie has joined us. He loves eating all of her discards. I had no idea dogs like nuts, but my two will search for fallen pistachios and crack them open. :)

LOL....My senni like's to Bombs away the food on the dogs head when the dogs are near the cage. They too learned that hey free snack from birds.
They also learned to sleep with one eye open as my parrots have a habit of fletching the dogs tail or hind end.

Haha, my Yorkie is a very picky eater, but she converted to pellets faster than my parrots did. You can't beat it really, the dogs provide entertainment for the parrots while cleaning up after them.

Haha I'm forever telling my dogs off for eating pellets that have found themselves outside of the cage! I'm sure they don't eat nearly enough to cause any problems but still!

I can't begin with how clean my room is because of the 3 dogs cleaning up pellets and seeds (Gizmo is still being converted to seeds -- stubborn little Chicken Butt) ! The only downside is the plague of doggy breath all over the floor
