After a lot of thinking and thinking and realizing that my Ragdoll cat Julianna needs more care than I can afford to give her I need to find her a home with people that will love her and to be able to take care of her in the way she deserves.

Why am I making this decision? This decision was a very hard one for me to make. I love my cat and she brings a great comfort to me when I am feeling depressed and overwhelmed. This is not a decision I am making lightly but I need to also be responsible and make the correct decision for her.

I got Julianna from a backyard breeder at a year and half old. She was not breed by the backyard breeders but was purchased from a cattery in San Diego CA to be used as a breeder for the MN cattery. For what ever reason the backyard breeders decided to spay her instead of breeding her. That part I never understood because Julianna was the best female they had and she would of made beautiful well bred babies.

Anyway their decision to spay her and not breed her was my boon. Out of the kittens they had I kept gravetating to Julianna. She is a very beautiful cat and I sensed she was unhappy in their enviroment. Too many cats and too many young kids. After it was decided I would take Julianna instead of a kitten I brought her home. She did not have any whiskers or eyebrows because the small childern pulled them off picking her up incorrectly. Julianna was not abused by the childern but they were small boys and small boys can be rough.

It took a total of 3 days for Julianna to adjust to my house. She THRIVED in my home I think because I don't have childern and she was a peace in my home. No one to bother or pester her, my home was quiet and it didn't take long for Julianna to come out of her shell. Our bond grew very quickly because I was the one that took care of her. I brushed her, fed her, took care of her litter box and played with her. I can do anything I want to her because I always reward her when I have to do things to her she does not really care for like clipping her nails.

I have never had a cat this well behaved and beautiful. It saddens me to have to place her but I cannot afford any vet care that she has to have. We got her right before the resession slammed down on us so while we were struggling to keep our home Julianna has never been to the vet to get her shots or blood work to get baseline. She only needs the preventative vet care and she never got it. I am really ashamed to have to admit my cat has never been to the vet for the maintance. I justified this by telling myself that she is a indoor cat only. She cannot be let outside because she is a ragdoll and does not have the instinct to protect herself. It is too dangerous to let a Ragdoll outside to roam and Julianna has never been let outside.

So it comes down to having to place Julianna because I cannot afford her care. I can barely afford the food she eats and her litter. This is not fair to her and although she gets all the love and attention and is fed superior food she needs more care than that. With the huge transition I am going though with the breakup and settling of property and animals it is time I find a better home for my Julianna. Although she is well taken care of by me she needs a home where the people can afford to fully take care of her.

I cannot afford to ship her so I would need someone local to be interested. The people will have to prove to me they can take care of her and will need to provide vet references. I will be calling them and checking up on what I am told. Julianna is bonded to our Scottish Terrier Mercedes and is protective of both the parrots. Julianna is a one of a million cat because she has so many wonderful traits and I cannot even think of a negative one to share.

Have you tried a Ragdoll rescue group? They would likely be able to help, and know people experienced with her breed and its needs. Where are you located? (That will help anyone considering! I am horribly cat-allergic so cannot take her, although I know they are wonderful kitties!)

Where are you located? Do you have pictures? How old is Julianna now? I love all animals and know many others that do also. Animal people network quite a bit :) We have one dog, one cat and 4 birds right now that are permanent members of our family. We spent the last year helping rescue and fostering 4 dogs and 1 cat. So if we can help??? There's a few rescues that will help with shots and food......it might be an option....????

We are looking for a bird for our family. It's very much like we are pregnant and waiting for the day the new addition comes to the family!
Yes, location :)
I respect you decision, and feel very sad for you. I have helped foster a few cats when friends and family had rough goes....

I thought I put my location in while I was telling my story. We are located in Minnesota a suburb of St. Paul side of the twin cities. I cannot afford to ship her and it is the wrong time of year to do that. Any airlines here will not ship animals here because its TOO FREAKIN' COLD! We are having a hard winter.

I tried joining a Ragdoll form which is a lot like how this one is set up but after trying to register with two different email addressed it kept saying I was a spammer. My IP addy must of come up as spammer which I am not and I have never even been to their site. *sigh*

I don't know of any Ragdoll group or club here locally. Although I am not in a huge hurry to place her I know I will need to do it. I want to attend a Pet Expo coming up next month so I can talk to people at this expo. My Scottish Terrier Mercedes also needs to be placed but I am forcing Lupe to handle that part (I am keeping an eye on what she is doing so I can be comfortable with what will happen to our dog)

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night feeling soft fur against my leg and a sand paper tongue licking my leg. Julianna had crawled under the blanket AND sheet and was lying right next to me sucking my heat. I wonder how she can breath in there but what can I do? I didn't have the heart to kick her out.

Here is a pic of her shortly after I brought her home. I need to get more updated pics uploaded to the photobucket account. Her saddle and her brown is a deep sable brown now and her tail is very fluffy. She has not gotten much bigger and I feel is small size for a Ragdoll but females are smaller than the males.

Julianna is beautiful! In our area there's a few groups on face book. One here is Housewives of Tecumseh, it's local information and a lot of rehoming going on as well as local issues....in fact, this winter there's been a lot of rescuing of feral cats going on. There's also resale/rehoming sites and there is one for critters too. It's more personal than craigs list, etc......also, on Petfinder you may be able to find info on a local rescue. Wish I lived closer. I would take her in a heart beat and know many others that would also....

Thank you so much for caring about my fluff ball. I really will have a hard time parting with her because she is so bonded to me. When I was in the hospital she missed me so bad she would cry at Lupe's closed bedroom door to wake her up then run to my bedroom door (closed and locked while I was away) and Lupe could not let her in. Poor Julianna. She was glad when I came back home.

I found some pictures taken when she was lying on the loveseat looking like she was on a drinking binge..she looks kind of drunk here.

Stupid camera made her eye look like she had red eye but you can see her beautiful blue eyes..LOL

She is not huge like the male Ragdolls but I use to set off my asthma picking her up and carrying her up the stairs. Why did I do that? She is soooo soft I like to hold her.

She is stunning! I am praying that you are able to find the perfect home for her.

Friday Julianna will be going to my friends house. Her and her husband really want her and will take very good care of her. Another bonus is I will be able to visit her. Friday I will drive her to their house and stay the night. I need a break from all the crap going around here lately. My Ex is making it very stressful to stay here.

Mercedes our Scottish Terrier will be going to a local Scottie rescue. I think this will be a good move because this rescue knows the breed and will be able to place Mercedes right away. They have a waiting list for Females.

Although I am very sad to see my pet have to go to new homes I feel it is for the best. The stress levels are so bad here I am sure it is affecting them.

If my home goes into foreclosure and I become homeless I will need to place Valentino as well. I will not subject my boy to a life of homelessness and high stress. Life really sucks.

Geez. I would seriously foster your bird until you got on your feet if you were here. Distance is lame.
