I am no longer allowed to go places with Jeanne, one of the owners of the bird rescue... We went to pick up feeders for my snakes and her lizards. There was a display of baby beardies right next to the register and the one was light and cute...I pointed it out to Jeanne and Jeanne agreed and than asked if I wanted to see her...than got the key to open the case....and yeah that happened...

First day home...last Wednesday...

My big guy and the new little one (he was mad at me for the bath not the baby)...Beardie is looking a lot better again he perked up a bit and is eating like crazy again. He is 7 years old next month.

And pictures from yesterday...

And Ezzie the rabbit found a home at a center for kids! She is doing well being spoiled with attention.

Congratulations on your impulse buy Victoria :D! Do you know if it's male or female? Wow the big one is huge. I had no idea they got that big. He's beautiful! Will they get along regardless of their gender?

So cool, in my former life I raised and sold about 300 beardies. If both males, there will be issues!
FYI, that much of a size difference could prove deadly!

They were only together for that second since I wanted a pic of the size difference. I used to have a bunch of them too so I know they have issues and even being the same size and different genders can cause issues. I debated caging them together if different genders but in the end I probably won't so another cage to be bought or built.

The baby is just a little too small and young to tell yet on if it's a girl or boy. My adult isn't that big actually! I had an ex breeder who was huge probably one of the Giant beardies when I was younger. I felt a little bad after I bought the little one since I had just looked at a rescue beardie on petfinder that was driving distance away but I didn't actually want another beardie the little one just happened to be there

Now I'll probably have the icky pleasure of breeding roaches again....Jeanne has three beardies and now that I have two it'll be cheaper to just breed the food once again....I remember this not being fun since I don't like creepy insects

So I'm ordering some roaches to start a colony again...will take about a year to truly be established so I figured I should start now. Fun times:20:

Some more pics of them both after their bath today! The little one is already a bit bigger since coming home a week ago. Measuring about 6 1/2 inches right now. I decided to measure Beardie since I never got around to doing it and he is about 17 1/2 inches.

Your beardies are adorable! Though the male looks annoyed :)

And the bugs are why I no longer have beardies. Crickets got expensive and I couldn't do roaches.

OMG I forgot how expensive ordering these insects can be just spent a little over 100 on hornworms and dubia roaches to start a colony:eek: Plus, I have to go pick up crickets tomorrow since I ran out tonight...I'm going to go cry now:52: I am trying to comfort myself on the fact that the dubias will pay for themselves within the year while also feeding Jeannes beardies...

She may be getting a little chubby right now. She had her first shed with me on her tail and her tail is lighter now. I'm curious what colors she is going to be as an adult. I still have to contact the shop and ask them if they know the morphs of the parents. I'm thinking she is a hypo citrus though. She has a nice yellow tinge that I can't seem to capture in pictures no matter how many I take:20:

I'm not sure how he sleeps in this position?

And the roaches are here...I didn't really miss that crawling sound at all!

She's closing in on 7 inches! Her shed is finishing on the head and starting on her body now. Her head is showing a lot more yellow don't think I really captured it in photos.

Ummm....

Old man...he has to think about it, then stick his tongue out before he eats:rolleyes:

The tongue pic of your old man is funny :). I couldn't keep animals that I had to feed worms to. I HATE worms .

Hahaha the roaches are worse for me. I'm also not fond of crickets jumping on my hand!

I love reptiles. Bearded Dragons are one of my favorites!
ROACHES????!!!???!??!!????
I have never heard of roaches, only crickets. With crickets its no big deal if a couple gets loose in your house. You can just hear their chirping from random places lol. Roaches I would be afraid they would escape and multiply.

She's really pretty!

I'm loving all the purple she's getting! I'm hoping the yellow gets more intense as she gets bigger.

Roaches are much healthier than crickets to feed. The roaches you feed wouldn't be able to survive long. Lobsters and dubias the ones that are best are tropical roaches and die without the proper heat. They also won't breed without the correct humidity and heat. In the right container, one that is super slick and smooth, the dubias can't get out since they can't climb it.

I love the pics of the 2 together! She sure looks like she's growing fast! How large is maximum size?
