Hi everyone!

Thought I’d tell you my piggies story.

At the end of November I rescued 2 piggies from horrific conditions. A bloke was keeping about 30 guinea pigs in the bottom of an outside bird aviary ( with LOTS of birds).., they lived on a dirt floor, all covered in mites and fight wounds, malnourished and skinny. He ONLY fed them carrots.. NO hay, no grass, no pellets EVER. It was awful, day old babies hiding with their sick poor mother (my friend took this family) most the females were pregnant.
I choose and captured 2 of the worse looking females, and my friend grabbed whoever else they could. In total we took home 9. I cried the whole drive home, I felt awful leaving the others behind. It was very distressing. We reported him to the RSPCA.
I named my 2 Opal and Olive, they were so scared.
Here they are on day one:

And here they are a few weeks ago, much happier and healthier

And since I also took on a huge Rex piggy who’d been in the pet shop for over 2 months, I hated seeing her in the boring pen on her own each time I went in there, so I took her home just before Christmas :)

Thanks for reading their story. I love my piggies as much as I love Sunny :D

Hannah, you are such a lady after my own heart! Bless you for saving these poor creaturess. It's easy to see the relief in every fibre of their little bodies in the later photos. I don't know what makes some people tick, but I firmly believe there's a special place in hell for those who mistreat animals. You didn't say what name you gave to the agouti piggy. She's lovely! If she doesn't already have a name, can I suggest 'Patricia' (which is a really serviceable name and can be easily shortened in many ways to reflect how you feel at any given moment - *I* think it's a great name for a Prime Minister, but that's only my opinion.). ;)

Thanks Betrisher! It really is a sad world out there for most animals, I truely do not understand how humans can be so cruel. My souls hurts everyday for animals that aren’t so lucky.
Oops!! Her name is Mary !
Patricia would have also been an awesome name for her:D

I've had three of this "breed" of parrot before, well... one each to me and my two brothers.

They were "Radar", "sonar", and though it's not the same "Pulsar".

Sonar was female and ended up prego...after....I gifted him to a freind lol I win!

Let me know if you can teach these parrots to talk, all I got out of ours was BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP...
