Forever in my heart. Sunny the Corella
Hi everyone!
Thought I’d tell you my piggies story.
At the end of November I rescued 2 piggies from horrific conditions. A bloke was keeping about 30 guinea pigs in the bottom of an outside bird aviary ( with LOTS of birds).., they lived on a dirt floor, all covered in mites and fight wounds, malnourished and skinny. He ONLY fed them carrots.. NO hay, no grass, no pellets EVER. It was awful, day old babies hiding with their sick poor mother (my friend took this family) most the females were pregnant.
I choose and captured 2 of the worse looking females, and my friend grabbed whoever else they could. In total we took home 9. I cried the whole drive home, I felt awful leaving the others behind. It was very distressing. We reported him to the RSPCA.
I named my 2 Opal and Olive, they were so scared.
Here they are on day one:
Olive
Opal
And here they are a few weeks ago, much happier and healthier
And since I also took on a huge Rex piggy who’d been in the pet shop for over 2 months, I hated seeing her in the boring pen on her own each time I went in there, so I took her home just before Christmas
Thanks for reading their story. I love my piggies as much as I love Sunny
