Here comes the snow!

Our first truly bad weather is about to start. The temps have dropped fast the last couple of hours, and the wind has picked up. We aren't getting a huge amount of snow, but it's coming with 40mph winds to cause white outs, and lots of blowing and drifting. I live in the flatlands so it piles up in the roads quite easily out here.

I bet the kids get a snow day tomorrow. I can't complain considering how mild winter has been so far this year. I did bring in a bunch of firewood though!

We got snow in Kentucky as well, and everything is shut down. Brrrrrrrrr !!! Try to keep warm.

The wood stove is going, and the snow is flying through the air. I just discovered my brand new pair of winter barn gloves are not quite as insulated as my previous pairs! My hands got cold while I was out taking care of the horses this morning. They won't be going out today. That wind is just bitter. It's also swirling around. It's piling snow up both at the back of the house and on the front porch. I don't usually get snow on the front porch.

It's just a day to hunker down, run the wood stove and not waste a bunch of propane. Plus the horses' water freezes fast in this sort of weather so I need to be out in the barn more.

Oh, and school must be closed because the bus hasn't gone by.

Here comes the snow!
