Had a horrible nightmare!

I had a nightmare last night and I woke up shaking from it.

I love Merlin very very much, birds in general. But I also love horses, particularly riding.

Anyway, I had a dream that I was outside with Merlin (he's pretty good at not flying away so it didn't seem THAT unusual) when a woman asked me if I could help her exercise her horses, after we'd groomed them. Merlin flew off into a tree as I was leading the horses back to the stables and I KNEW I shouldn't leave Merlin, but in my dream I did thinking that he'd be there when I come back and it's a risk I'd be willing to take as long as I get to help with the horses (?!?!)

Anyway, after quite a long period away, doing horsey stuff and whatnot, I came back and was panicking because I couldn't see him, the woman spotted a senegal in a tree and I called him over, relieved that Merlin was okay... but this senegal had two good legs! Not my Merlin! So I began frantically looking around the trees and there were just tons and tons of senegals, some with clubbed feet, some normal, and every time I called Merlin a sennie would come to me... but never him, then I woke up and I got my baby out, cuddled him in my duvet and he fell asleep purring again.

What scared me the most was that I knew what I was doing was horribly wrong but I still did it anyway.

I would never ever ever ever ever leave my baby >: (

Oh that was an awful nightmare ......................
I heard before, when dreaming if it was a bad dream it means something good is going to happen.
In dreams we have no control over our "doings"
Don't be to hard on yourself

I'm usually a lucid dreamer, so not being able to do what I really felt was right and just going along with my dream self was so weird and left me feeling so horrible!

I really hope something good happens, would be a nice change for me ;)

I think today he's going to be spoilt rotten because I felt like I'd lost him! So grateful for my baby!

I think we all do things in dreams we would never do in real life. I actually hate dreaming because when I do they all seem weird or bad. With my sleep disorders I rarely dream, so when I do I almost always wake up and am upset.

Even my cat had a bad dream once. She started howling and attacking me in her sleep. It was scary for me, too. I woke up all panicked and being attacked. My arm was all torn up.

Don't worry about it, Mayden. We cannot control what we dream. Some of our dreams are just (excuse the expression) "mind puke". I'm sure that you are now, and always will be, a wonderful guardian to Merlin.

Thanks guys, it's kinda nice to know how you all feel about dreams and realise that I'm not a horrible person for dreaming it. My baby's getting a nice new sleep cage tomorrow so he gets to spend more time with me around the house even when he needs to be caged. Yey!

I love him sooo much, I bet you guys just couldn't imagine life without your birds either. It's nights like those that really remind me how much my animals really mean to me, even if they're annoyed me and shredded me all day etc.

I sometimes have bad dreams where bad things happen to my animals or family and even wake up crying.

A couple of weeks ago I dreamed I was trying to mix a pork chop into a glass of lemonade, lol! What the heck weird thing was that about?? I just disregard my dreams because they aren't real and they sure don't make sense. But, I hate the ones that upset me. I don't want to wake up upset or crying for no reason.

I woke up during the night when I had a bad dream about my birds. It mostly involved Pete and Merlin and I can't quite remember it now. I remember a bit about Pete getting out of his cage and letting Merlin out, but that's about it.

One of mine was sorta true one time. I had Pearl on her perch in my bedroom and fell asleep because I had music on(I didn't get a good nights sleep before).Well I heard bird noises and and I woke up and forgot I had pearl out and was frantic.(i was dreaming about her too)right about the time I was getting up Pearl ran up the covers of my bed to me and then it all came back to me what happened.I thought Pearl had escaped her cage and I immediately thought aboout my dog.Pearl looked at me like"What's your issue?!"
