My boyfriend and I go to the movies a lot so I've decided to promote myself to Official Movie Bird Lady. My duty will be to promote discussion about movies amongst the bird people. All Hail me in my pathetic-ness!
Don't worry, I do bodily harm to people who spoil movies for me so I won't ever do that to you :p

Saw 'Gone baby gone' tonight and it was really good. I thought for sure it'd stink, even with the good reviews (since Ben Affleck cast his own brother in it) but it was excellent, best movie I've seen in awhile.

Saw 'Michael Clayton' a few nights ago and experienced something new. A ten dollar nap. First time I've ever fallen asleep at a movie! Honest to god I couldn't keep my eyes open. Saw about 3 other people sleeping as well! What the hell, George Clooney!?!

'30 days of Night' was extremely gory and kind of corny.. but it was fun. I felt compelled to whisper "we are never moving to Alaska" in my boyfriend's ear about half way through.

'The Heartbreak Kid' made me laugh out loud a bunch of times but it wasn't that great. Why do they always ruin movies by showing the best scenes over and over again in television commercials?

'The Kingdom' was pretty good, nice to see a movie that doesn't beat some idiot celebrity war opinion down your throat.

'We Own the Night' was pretty freaking dumb even though it did make me laugh out loud a few times. Unfortunately, it was supposed to be a drama!

'Resident Evil: Extinction' was OK I guess, but only because Milla Jovovich is incredibly hot enough to get you through anything. Lots of action and everything like the others. Just felt to me like they didn't go at it as hard because they knew everyone was going to go see it regardless.

So.. come on and lets argue about movies.

For what it costs to go to the cinema, I cant afford to look away for a second.

Post edit:

MY GOD!! I just reread my own post and I heard Grampa Simpson's voice in my head.

When did he start narrating my life?

Lol Red, don't worry.. grandpa Simpson is cool.. kinda :/

Tex, I remember going to see one of the StarWars movies with some guy, (the NEW StarWars movies.. I'm not THAT old!) anyways the guy tried to get frisky and I smacked him upside the head. You can do that any old time.. it's STARWARS for gods sake! Thinking back now I might have enjoyed the movie more if I hadn't watched it, since all the new StarWars movies basically suck :p

Ever since we discovered Netflix we haven't really gone to the movies, except to go see the 5 movie of Harry Potter (hey, did you all know about Dumbledore being gay ... wow, a fictitious character is gay ... OH NO!!)

We have netflix too but I like to go to the movies. Theres nothing to do where I live. It's like.. the woods :/
I only enjoyed the first Harry Potter movie because it followed the books so closely. Haven't really liked the other movies much.
I think that woman is an ass for saying the wizard is gay. Does she REALLY need more publicity for this series? No.. I don't think so.
So many kids already can't read the books because of the whole religious/witch thing and now I'll bet tons of parents will get mad about the gay thing. It's just a shame because the books are great and would be a wonderful way to get a stubborn kid interested in reading.
I agree, the first new star wars movie wasn't quite as bad as the others. And Harrison ford is definitely hot!

Notice that she never mentioned this while she was writing the books? Ms. Rowling is brilliant for not making that announcement in the middle of the HP craze ... I don't think that she is going to loose anyone in the way of readers ... There are kids/families who have only read like the first 3 or 4 books (or even fewer) and will want to know what happens to HP. I don't think that they would stop reading the series because of that statement, but there are those freaks out there ...

Speaking of movies, Christy and I watched "The Illusionist" the other night ... what a great flick that was ... I would highly recommend it to just about anyone who wants a thriller/drama/love story (Guys, it's not a Chick Flick)

Most of the kids in next the town over who aren't druggies or prostitutes are catholic and go to church. (I'm so glad I don't won't be raising any children here) Nearly all of them are banned from Harry Potter. It's really quite ridiculous.

Yeah, because FICTION books are works of the DEVIL ... they will make you covet your neighbor's wife AND take the Lord's name in vain - they just might make you worship false idols too!

Saw Bee Movie.. it was really funny.. very similar to an episode of Seinfeld, I felt, the way the dialogue went. Laughed hard and made my sore throat worse:)

My boyfriend really disliked the Seinfeld tv show as well but he laughed his butt off at the movie.
I would like to add that the both of you have horrible taste for not liking Seinfeld. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Saw Beowulf last night. It was ok but I couldn't get over the fact that most of my video games were animated better than the movie. Remember the final fantasy movie? That was better animated as well. I guess actors are afraid of what will happen when we can animate them better than real life and no longer need to bother with them at all.
Of course a poorly animated stark naked Angelina Jolie is better than no naked Angelina Jolie at all :D

AMEN TO THAT SISTER!! :D

Christy and I watched Knocked Up last night ... never laughed so hard in my life ... you have to have the sense of humor for this movie though ... you have to like sex jokes and drug jokes. If you don't like this type of humor than you will probably want to stay away from this movie.

Flyte, I am sorry that Beowulf was such a bust ... that's too bad, previews looked good.

Something tells me that we are going to be without any GOOD movies for a long time due to the writer's strike ... :(

Yeah, we saw knocked up in the movies and sure did laugh a lot. I agree with the birth scene thing though, was unnecessary. We just grabbed it on netflix too and it's supposed to be 'uncut' so I assume the birth scene gets...birthier. lol

Saw "Enchanted" this evening, very funny! You need to like silly humor though to enjoy this one I think. I love for the animated Disney movies helps too.
Best part was the children in the audience saying 'Eeewww' anytime there was any kissing scene :D
