For those of you that buy from breeders, this is why you should always ask to see the parents and their living conditions. Never buy from someone who does not let you see the parents and how the person keeps them.

I understand your concern but I disagree with you. I ran a closed an aviary at all times. No oe entered but me and my husband. Guests can bring diseases in from their birds as well as upset breeders causing them to destroy eggs and kill babies.

Sorry I should have clarified, I meant if the parents aren't nesting still. If the parents are still nesting then I wouldn't let them see the parents but if they aren't nesting you should ask to see the parents. I have rules before you can enter my house, no shoes, you cant go to a pet store/fair before you come to see the babies and you cant come into contact with other birds or anyone who is sick.

I agree greycloud.
I can understand wanting to see where the birds come from and their living conditions, but it can really be harmful to the birds if people are allowed to go into the aviary.
Maybe it's possible to get photos or videos from a breeder instead. I know they could send fake pics, but I think if you talk to your breeder enough, you can get to know the kind of person they are.

I don't let people in my breeding rooms at all. I care to much about my birds to have people bring in diseases to my breeders. If the breeders r sick them the babies will be sick! I want to sell healthy babies!!! I have pics. of all my breeders on my website and I post pics. every week of the babies. If u come to see the babies u can see how I keep them. Also I always look behind the bird in a pic. that people post, is the cage clean or dirty? U can tell a lot from a pic. and talking to the breeder. Also I would not buy a bird from a breeder that lets everyone in and out of their breeding rooms. Who knows what their birds have!!! Way to many risks and I respect breeders more who choose to have a closed Aviary to protect their birds!!

Ok ok all that makes sense, I guess I was just mad because the person in the video thinks its ok to keep his/her birds like that. That's why I made a breeding section so people can know what good breeding setups look like. Not letting people in seems smart, I have never had that issue yet because my parents kept my first clutch so I never had people come over anyway. I cant let people see my pair anyway becauee they would get attacked by Sully monster.lol.

I don't breed birds but I do breed sugar gliders. I would never allow anyone in my glider room (my master bedroom..lol). There are many things that people can bring in on their clothes or maybe they themselves have been sick.

Nobody goes into my bird room. However, they can see the parents and how I keep my birds through a glass window.
