So I had a nice big bag of pine nuts, easily 2 pounds at least. I had them out on a shelf since i'd been giving my Macaw treats (The CAGS don't really like them much.)

I also had my dogs out. I went into the other room for a few minutes and my dogs stayed in the office.

I went to see what they were doing.. and they were EATING MY BAG OF PINE NUTS.

Gone, all of them.. I just barely got there in time to keep my 10 month old puppy from swallowing the plastic bag. Thankfully it didn't cause them any dietary problems (this happened 2 days ago.) But.. but.. PINE NUTS ARE EXPENSIVE..

:(:(:( bye bye pine nuts.

I didn't eat them, they were for the birds! lol...

The other day I had to pry a dead bird out of my puppy's mouth. He brought it to me, but wouldn't let it go. (He's all bird dog, spaniel/lab mix)

He is soo bad.

At least it was just pine nuts. My friend's Pointer Corey ate most of a bag of chocolate-covered espresso beans she had been given as an office gift ... and the dog and her humans lived through it, but Corey was vomtting and jittery from the caffeine for hours, and barely could hold still ... poor thing! My friend threw the rest away, just in case ... but Corey was one miserable dog.

Oooooh yeah. You should be thankful it was just pine nuts, it always could of been worse!

I have a whole twitter account dedicated to chronicling the crazy stuff my dogs eat. I think my lab's Best Day Ever! was the day I left two grass-fed, organic NY strip steaks on a plate covered in olive oil, kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper.

I came back in 5 minutes later, did some dinner prep stuff and got ready to put the steaks in the pan and realized there was but one steak to put in the pan.

He was so sneaky, I never even realized he was doing it. But I just know that 15.00 slab of raw meat was the best thing he ever put in his mouth.

Luckily the steaks were huge, so my husband and I just ended up splitting one.
