Hi Guy's,

I usually don't meddle much in these things, but a friend of mine is asking for help to raise votes for her exotic pet sanctuary (this includes birds) --> http://www.facebook.com/#!/kayleighs.sanctuary

As far as I know she is one of the only sanctuaries of her kind in Ireland and donations are scarce.

If they win, the 3 combined sanctuaries she works with each get 1000 euro for food and supplies for the furries and featheries and scalies.

There's no signing up nonsense, no nothing, just click the link below, and click vote.
And just to stress; I'm not asking for people's hard earned monies, it's really just a click of a button, you can click vote every 24h.

Myself and a lot of little critters will be very grateful to you!!

Thanks to all of you so far! i'll keep you posted of course if she wins :)
Like Kayleigh said in the video too, Reptiles are animals too and are more often then we'd like overlooked and disposed of.
The novelty for a human to have an exotic pet often means it's death.

I'm really glad there are the good people out there doing this work!

I had a long talk with her about parrots recently and after having received questions from people like "what is a cheap parrot" she asked me if it was possible to share bandit's story with her, and the effect of a "cheap" bird. ie. Liver problems due to poor diet (seed only, or poor quality seed mixes) over grown beak and the effects of lack of calcium and UV light etc. you know the list yourselves :) - not to mention the behavioral issues caused by improper handeling, neglect, wrong or lack of interactions with the bird etc.

I wrote her in what condition we bought her, and what it took me to get her health up, (roughly 1000EUR was spend on a proper cage, vet bills, treatments, etc.) and the ongoing battle of winning and gaining her trust. We agreed that if you're looking for an inxpensive pet, people should get pet rocks.
Hopefully the article will help make peopel think twice before buying a bird on a whim thinking it's a cheap pet to keep.

Guy's we are only 95 votes behind to win this thing - Please please, spread the word and get people to click the vote button, it would mean somuch to them to win this thing as they are an unfunded organisation. 1000 euro for food and supplies would be great to get.
