A semi-rant? I don't know. I'm just devastated.

So my family and I went to this cute little park in our neighborhood. I was just kind of hanging around this little patch of grass and I look to my left and I see grey and white feathers.

Everywhere. At first glance I thought 'cockatiel feathers'. They looked exactly like Tweeter's. I start looking around and see this black cat in the distance...and... I don't even want to say... It (he/she) had a whiteface cockatiel in its mouth...

This was practically exactly how Tweeters died, with a black cat even!!!

In my neighbor's backyard though. At this point, of course, I was already crying rivers. This little bird was probably already lost, hurt, hungry, and tired, and then along comes this cat...,

I'm crying just typing this...

Oh...

Fly free little guy, you're at peace now.

It is very sad that this kind of thing has to happen, but we can't blame the cat they were born with and still have a very strong hunting instinct and use it to survive

. In the end it is sad for both of them, as someone doesn't take care of there cat and let it out and someones bird got loose and has now suffered death because of someone else's mess up. It's just a circle of human mistakes... So sorry you had to see that I am sure it was very hard as it probably brought back recollection of your poor birdie.

WOW...sorry you had to witness that, my buddy

..Life will be full of moments like that as it continues, what you need to keep focused on are the positive things in your life, but be aware that bad things can/do happen. Have fun but be vigilant is all I can tell you. Wish I could think of more to tell you.

Yeah, I can't blame the cat, it's pretty much humans' faults.

Which is horrible in itself.

I try to stay focused on the positive, and I usually am, but it's moments like these that punch you in the gut and leave you speechless for a bit..

Ugh, thank you guys.

The sad part is this could have all been prevented if all us humans just started caring for our animals... Of course, everyone on this forum does, but a lot more people unfortunately don't give animals forever homes.

And the cat was SO skinny too, you could see her bones. Having a cat myself this was a blow to me too. Sometimes I can be sick with some of humanity.

sorry Yasmin you had to see that , * hugs*. I bet tweeters is watching over you in rainbow bridge. Though that was so wierd , same situation , do you think it's a coincidence ? Sign ? Sorry if I'm overwhelming you.

No, not at all!

I do believe it was some sort of sign from my little guy.

Which is really happy when you think about it.

I never really did blame the cat. Maybe? Haha. The cat that killed Tweeters had kittens and I feed all 4 of them now.

I am so sorry you had to see this. Maybe the cat was born a stray? On the bright side its spring, more birds are being born, and things are warming up. Also, maybe tweeters and this little guy are friends up above now
