We are a budding online magazine, scheduled to post our very first publication within the next few months, but we need your help! We will be featuring interviews with avian vets, species profiles, trick and training tips, birdie recipes and more! But on top of that, we hope to feature bird owners and their feathered families every month. If you're interested in showing off your birds and stories, post here! Interviews will be at your convenience over phone or email.

Thanks in advance, from Bird Freaks! :blue1:

I only own a b&g Mac but there is always a funny story about her. She is quite the clown and the talker.

I own a few birds. I have 3 Doves, 6 Cockatiels, a Pineapple Green Cheek Conure, a Blue Quaker, and an Umbrella Cockatoo. My one Cockatiel I rescued. Drove an hour for him. He was posted on Craigslist and I contacted the lady. Was very upset that she couldn't rehome and if someone didn't get him she was going to toss him outside. I told her not to and went the next day for him. The cage was so bad and smelled of smoke. I had to pull over and toss out a blanket and a few things. Once home a friend of mine realized he smelled of urine. When I investigated the cage it had yellow all down the side and everything. Like an animal or human peed on it. It took a while to get the smell gone from him. I named him Eros which is the Greek God of love because that's exactly what he needed was love.

Mjölnir a.k.a Olly the adorable Major Mitchell
My partner and I have two featherbabies between us:

Chibi is Matty's baby, a 9 month old female Pink & Grey Galah. Her favourite color is green (by far) and she is such a hyperactive gal. We 'rescued' her from a pet shop and she is coming along in leaps and bounds. She was a terrified, aggressive biter and the thing that won her over in the end was me putting my trust completely in her.. The response was amazing and positive, and she has only gotten better! She now loves a good scratch and being lightly sprayed with a misting bottle. It is common to see her chilling on her tree-perch just headbanging away, and she adores listening to Korn.

Mjolnir (a.k.a Olly) is my new 2 year old male Major Mitchell. His favourite color appears to be red and he is so quiet and curious. I expected quite a bit more noise from a cockatoo but he is quite content just chattering away to himself and to Chibi. The few times he has screeched have been because my big clumsy cat has entered the room. Neither of my kitties are too impressed with this and they stay right away unless the cage is covered at night time. I haven't yet been able to give him a good scratch but I can get nearer and nearer each time I try, the strength of his beak does make me a little nervous but he doesn't seem inclined to bite hard at this stage. Perseverance and patience is the key here and I am looking forward to building our relationship over the coming years.

We would love to have our featherbabies featured in your magazine at some point, though possibly it would be good to wait just a few months until Olly and I have grown a little closer and I have more to report!
