So, I have yet to tell my mom this.
I think I'm starting to suffer from short term memory lose.
I can no longer read aloud, because I'm afraid of pausing at an easy word. I can talk to my friends and sit there saying "ummm... ummmm" for the longest time.
Anyone think that's odd?

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I'm almost fifty two years old, and have had nine concussions... for me it's just a fact of life...

If it's before coffee, or after alcohol, it doesn't count as an episode.

GCC- Ollie 3.9.13.
Cockatiels- RIP Charlie 2012, Zac 2006.
You need to get it checked out. Even if it just stops you wondering about it. Better safe than sorry!

Many many things could explain it from stress to an ear infection to a bad cold to a sudden tiny haemorrhage in your retina or whatever. Only a doctor can tell you and there's ABSOLUTELY no need to to worry about dire consequences till you know what the cause is. I bet it's something with a simple explanation. :)

Have you had a lot on your mind lately? That would be my first thought: you're concentrating so hard on something important that little things (like the next word on the page) lose priority. That happens a lot and gets worse with age. Dammit!

I agree, definitely get this checked out. If it' something significant you want them to catch it as early as possible! I hope it's nothing serious, always better to be safe then sorry.

Dang! No wonder you are having these issues. When my mother died I could barely remember how to drive home, and I also forgot what I was talking about. Years ago during final exam time I accidentally wore two different shoes to school. Odd thing was everybody else was so stressed they didn't notice my odd footwear. I didn't notice until the end of the day. Even worse? One shoe was a white sneaker, the other was black and white sneaker.

Stress can do strange things to the human mind. Be careful.

Stress can also cause forgetfulness. Your brain just kind of shuts down when it's had all it can take. Still worth having it checked out though.
