So last week i went to the Doctors as Id been getting a lot of abdominal pain (I'm 11 weeks pregnant). He said I have a viral stomach infection and that it should only last 10 days max. Its now been going on for 14 days. And the pain is gradually getting worse..

Can viral stomach infections really cause so much pain that i double over when it hits?

Also, got my urine tested today and the PH balance was apparently quite high. Midwife said that it can happen when you're getting over being ill.. But I'm getting worse, not better. Since last night whenever i eat i feel ill and the pains begin again. Most pains are in my lower left and right abdomen, however only my lower right side is tender and hurts to push on it. So confused -_-

Anyone ever had anything similar? Also have no idea what a high PH balance means. O.O

My normal Doctor has been away for a few weeks and doesn't get back til next week, and is booked up for weeks *shakes fist*

Dr i saw last week said viral stomach infections don't affect the baby.. But honestly, if they affect me it has to have SOME effect on the baby..?

I was thinking of dropping in to the Hospital but i don't think this is an emergency. :/

Mmm i thought about that, but in sure it'd be a lot worse if it were the appendix. Called the GP Helpline and they were adamant that i go to the hospital tonight. So will probably go soon after daughters finished her dinner.

If it's appendix it wouldn't hurt to push it in but would hurt like hell once you let go (and it'd be on the right side)
Sounds to me like you need to be checked out. At least it will ease your mind and answer your questions as well as hopefully make you feel better!

Mmmm. Ah yeah. Highly doubt its to do with my appendix then. The pain has lessened from an 8/10 to about a 5 or 6/10 (10 being the worst) so I guess that's an improvement. Well, I'll have to go tomorrow. Was about to mention it to my hubby and next thing i knew he was putting her to bed. Her rest comes first.

Yep, i definitely have to go tomorrow. I've been drinking loads of water all day and I'm suddenly extremely thirsty, drank 3 cups of water in 5 minutes and my mouth and lips are very dry... I believe i am dehydrated and cant seem to rehydrate because my silly body is urinating too much!

Could possibly be your gallbladder. I had gallstones my first pregnancy and I've never experienced such pain. Went from my stomach into my back. It made for a very long pregnancy.

Go to the hospital so they can rule out the appendix.
Agreed. It sounds like you are worried, and you know your body best... so walk to the emergency room, and say you are concerned for your baby.

If you have time to check your insurance, make sure the hospital you choose is on your health insurance's network (or "preferred" network).

I recently had an exersize-induced head injury that required an emergency room visit and they performed a CT scan. Two weeks later, I got a notice from my insurance company stating that I owe the hospital $1,500 bucks since the hospital was not "in network". Even though I did look it up on the insurance web page and it appeard to be one of the network hospitals. I think they make the insurance policies complicated on purpose so they can push off as much of the cost to patient and the hospital. Since then, I have been reviewing my policy with a fine-tooth comb and emergency room visits (to any ER) are SUPPOSED to be covered. I have to call them up and yell at them and see why they aren't covering the whole bill like they should. /rant

Well, doc says he doesn't believe it is a viral stomach infection, if it were id be vomiting, diarrhea etc which I'm not. Couldn't find babys heartbeat with the Doppler but told me not to stress. And if pain is still present on Monday to get my doctor to book me in for an urgent scan to find the problem. Doesn't think its appendicitis but yes, it shouldn't last this long.

He just told me to take panadene for the time being.

Ended up going to the Dr today. Have to get urine and blood tests done tomorrow and then ultrasound of everything next week. He thinks i have some sort of infection, possibly appendicitis as that low right area is much more sensitive/tender today than it was on Saturday. So yup. Lots of tests to come. He also thinks there's a risk/chance of the baby developing something abnormal, so the pain COULD be my body somewhat rejecting the baby, however I've not had bleeding so we're hoping the baby stays ok.

Thank you! Well, took a lovely urine sample in this morning, and got 6.. SIX WHOLE VIALS of my blood taken.. And 3 of them were those huge thick vials... For all that blood of mine taken out of my body, they had better find the problem. >.>

Thanks WannaBeAParrot... I really hope so too. Test results won't be back for another 4 to 7 days. I despise waiting... *twitch twitch*
