My amaryllis just now are sending up their blooming stalks but mine are jammed onto a windowsill lol looking out over a snowy landscape. Also I had for about 5 years that yellow flowering plant (it was a water hog!!), and it was very beautiful and very rare at the time and definitely a patio and houseplant in my area. Nobody had ever seen them before when I had it and I had it out on my patio when my doorbell rang. I answered it and it was the police! A police woman to be exact. And every one of my neighbors was poking out their heads to see what I had done wrong lol. Well she assured me it was not an 'official call' but that she had seen that plant on my back patio and thought it was so beautiful and wanted to see it close up and what was it lol. I had to take it in every fall and cut it down to near nothing (it would get infested with mealy bugs) and just winter it over, but it always came back in the spring with some water - it would take a whole jug every single day.
