... I've got some to share. We've had two feet of snow fall today. And you can bet I documented it. So for those of you who DON'T have snow... enjoy:

Snow fall over night, when I cleared off my car this morning (not too bad):

The drive to work (this is the main highway through town):

The snow I then had to clear off my car to go HOME from work:

It took me 15 minutes (not counting clearing off my car) to get out of the parking lot!! And then the drive home...

And I come home to my driveway. Now, it snowed two feet in general. But. The wind decided that my driveway was just the place to be. And thus it blew ALL the snow in to my driveway. So my driveway became a snow drift. Took me an hour and a half to shovel it:

For some perspective, that shovel is 5 feet tall.

And a little walk around the block... the city workers are currently on strike and have decided snow removal is NOT an essential service. So this is what ALL the roads are like (and what I drove, err... spun out/fish tailed/nearly got stuck in) driving home:

And tonight it might snow another foot. So I can wake up and do it all again!! Cheers!!! At least we have free health care... :54:

There's a reason I live in Texas....so others can enjoy the snow!

Be careful on your drive tomorrow.

 Just looking at it all makes me want to crawl right back into bed.

I don't envy you one bit. Sure, it's nice to look at - from afar. :54:

Having to plow it and clean the driveway and such is BACKBREAKING work.. :30:

Oh, I wish I could!

It snowed another half a foot overnight and still going... and it isn't powder. It is HEAVY snow. I tried to drive to work. Got stuck in the road at the end of my driveway (because even with my winter tires, my car is NOT able to drive in 2.5 feet of wet snow).

Called a tow truck - wait time is 4 hours. So, went back in the house, only thing I could find to give me some traction was a bag of bird food Pixel refuses to eat. That's right, everyone... I used bird food to get traction for my car.

It didn't work.

I then decided getting to work was futile. And settled on just getting back in my driveway. So I dug out the front of my car as best I could (had to lay on the ground and use my arm since there wasn't clearance for a shovel).

Then by some mercy, and in seeing my pathetic plight, a guy driving a dump truck pulled over and offered to push my car... and after some struggle it is back in its snowy tomb in the driveway.

So... since the cabs are also all stuck... looks like I have a day off. However, since they aren't plowing the roads, I know I won't be able to drive to work tomorrow. And the buses aren't running. So. I may just have to walk to work because I only have one more day I can book off work with pay... and I used that today. So I'll be waking up at 4:30 am tomorrow and walking for an hour in knee deep snow. I don't know what else to do.

So... can someone in Australia or Florida or somewhere else where snow is not a thing... can you adopt me??

We never get much snow here, a sprinkling at most.
In the last 15 years i have only taken a snow day from work 2 times. And that is just because I could LOL

A snowmobile is what you need XD how on earth can the city decide that plowing the roads isn't necessary?

I sometimes desperetly wish it would snow here, and other times I'm so happy it doesn't

Believe it or not, we are use to it....we don't like it.
there are days it takes an hour to do our driveway with a snowblower, just to get out, (it can hold about 10 cars)

most of our roads are sanded and plowed thank goodness, but there are days you just should stay home.

B.C. is known for their snow just like Colorado, or any of your more northern states.

Yeah, I mean getting this much snow isn't abnormal here. But normally it's more powdery snow. I've lived here 4 winters. The worst (single) snowfall I've been through was 3 feet overnight! But this is the first time I didn't make it to work!

And copperarabian, it turns out the city is going to plow still... but even when they do, residential streets are not a priority and rarely are done. Last winter was 7 months long. We had 8 feet of snow fall. They plowed my road three times the entire winter. I counted lol! It is insane. I actually called the city and was told they're not even planning to plow anything but the major roads/bus routes. I've always lived in BC but never so far north...

Thanks! Ha. Snow days are not a thing here. Otherwise half the year would be a snow day...

Oh I know about driveways - our driveway is 1/10th of a mile long and a slowblower just doesn't cut it in a heavy snowfall.

I feel your pain...it's still snowing here, we have 3 feet out there now and it's still snowing.Supposed to stop by Saturday:) At least they do a really good job on our roads here, they even did our alley behind the house last week. Stay safe (and warm!)
