Here's a photo I took a month ago, when I started using liquid CO2 and liquid fertilizer. Previously I was only using root tabs(still using them too). Tons of growth!

Ooh wow! Gorgeous set up :) I used to be very into the aquarium hobby. It's been some years now where I haven't had an aquarium, so I'm sure technological advances have run away from me by now. Had saltwater and reef tanks. Also some freshwater, but I never got into the live plants. I know I can't even keep regular terrestrial plants alive :52:

I see Cardinals and Rasboras nicely accenting the foliage :) do you keep other fish in there, or mainly small schools around the plants as the main focal point? Are snails and worms a problem when you have live plants?

Are you on any aquarium forums?

I've always been interested in salt water, but it seems really inconvenient. Fresh water is so easy, and the plants make the water even better quality.

haha, I always buy plants I know are hardy XD I get low light plants like anubias, crypts, then I have a tiger lotus who didn't grow as well as I had liked and stayed bushy(pretty in it's own right)

They're actually neons, but SUPER happy neons. I was stunned to even find them spawning one day! Whenever I buy new live plants I rinse them very well, I look ALL over to make sure I didn't miss any snail eggs. I do have a few snails in the tank intentionally. I have three nitrites, one mystery snail, and I also added trumpet snails who are excellent and cleaning up any extra food. I also have ghost shrimp, and one three spot blue gourami I've had for many years.

Never had any problems with worms, hopefully I never will lol

I used to be super active on bettaforums, but stopped about 2 and a half years ago. never really looked for any other fish forums, know of any good ones?

Must of been sad :( but at least they're out if the way now...

Someone got a excellent deal when I sold my 48 as well, same price at a hundred. A few months prior I had purchased a 302 fluval filter for $79(normally around $130ish). I feel like I sold them the filter and the tank came free at the price XD

That is a beautiful tank. My plants never look that good after I have had them in for awhile.

I guess the reason the salt water seemed less intimidating was because I first started with it. I thought the FW live plant keeping sounded scary lol. Learned tons by talking to experienced people in the hobby, books, expensive trial and error, etc. Too bad I didn't know about internet forums back then. Actually Internet wasn't popular when I first started with fish.

That's cool that your neons spawned! Great water quality :) I don't think FW Angels needed as strict of parameters in water (?) but they did spawn regularly anyway. Fresh food for the rest of the fish! (In my tank with plastic plants:D) that is until the male got tired of the female one day and he killed her. :( I never got another one because of the territoriality issue.

To be honest, I had no idea of the existence of internet forums for ANY hobby until about 2005 (I had finally come out of the dark ages LOL!) Someone told me about the Yahoo Groups, so I joined a few bird groups, but they are not really 'forums'.

What a beautiful planted tank!!!! I can't do planted due to my fish, they'll have it chewed up in no time. I did saltwater for over 7 years and it got tiring in the end so I give it all up and stick to just freshwater.

LOL I used to keep cichlids in a larger tank I had, I tried live plants. They said no, every morning I'd wake up to the plants floating haha

I have parrot fish which they are part of cichlids family. They would have it torn up....we've had the parrot fish for over 10 years, used to be 4 but one jumped ship and we have no idea how he got out as there's limited space to jump out from and he's pretty big so we ended up with 3 along with angels, gourmies, giant danios, rainbow, earth eaters, and pletcos. The only reason the tank is up is because of the parrot fish as they're like little puppy dogs. Gotta love'em. :)

I've never really been interested in aquariums, while they look neat, I prefer an interactive pet rather than a decoration...However, my mother use to have a very nice 200 gallon aquarium when I was a young kid. I still remember looking at it :)

Long story, but she had to move into housing from a big house quickly and got rid of lots of things...She gave away the aquarium for free. Hasn't had one since. Your post reminded me of her aquarium :)
