So this post is very important to me. I have been suffering with back pain for almost 5 years not, and today the doctor told me wonderful news. Something other doctors didn't tell me. I was told I need a shot of cortisone to relief me of my pain. I was told I would need back surgery, if it's what the doctor believed it to be. And after 1 more MRI, it was confirmed that back surgery wasn't going to be needed.

I was afraid of the surgery being the option, seeing as I'd be immobilized for quiet some time. Unable to take care of my babies, I knew if the surgery were to happen then I'd make the right choice and sell them to a person who could give them the attention the need.

So this is me celebrating the good news with a check list of all the happy thoughts.
1. I can keep my babies
2. I don't need back surgery
3. I can do my study abroad in Spain over the summer.
4. Take my sister and little cousin to the beach and amusement park.
5. Start working out again!

I am so happy for you!!! That is great news, and it is just a shame that it took the doctors that long to figure this out.

Thank you! Also you and me both, I think my mom was about to have a heart attack. She doesn't seem happy with the answer though, plus she knows I'm a sissy about pain. Not looking forward to the injection though that's for sure.

That's good news you wouldn't be needing the surgery but the cortisone injection can only be done 3 times and after that if you still have issues, surgery is your only option.

The doctor says I may only need the one though, but I'm scared. Like I wanna be knocked out for the shot :(

Hopefully all you need is just one injection. Down the road I'll be forced to do surgery as the injection isn't gonna do me much good with carpal tunnel on both hands. Talked to a couple of my old customers and her mom just had it done. It was done and over with in less then 3 hrs time. It looks like a minor surgery so I'll have to bite the bullet and have it done....

I'm just very nervous. Haha, my dad didn't really comfort me. He was like "I got an injection in my elbow, the doctor walked in grabbed my elbow and shoved the needle in." I cringed.

Lower back, L4/L5.
And its really funny because the doctor said, "A 20 year old women with a healthy spinal xray and MRI shouldn't have been living with pain for 5 years."

So even the doctor is shocked.

I may need that done myself in the same area.....just try not to over think it as it last just minutes comparing to years of pain and suffering.
