If you didn't see, or don't remember I had posted a thread about my aquarium, well here's a update and it's well, deserved.

Since then I've purchased a few more plants, still using liquid CO2, leaf zone fertilizer, and root tabs, and today I updated my lighting to LED :D I'm loving the new lights!

Ohhh it's SO lush! :D
It looked good before... Now it looks AMAZING! You're doing something right :)

I used to have Pearl Gourami's. I loved the large males with the long fringes.

I love the lushness XD AWESOME you used to have pearl gouramis. They were always a dream fish of mine, so gorgeous!
I forgot to mention I also changed the gravel to aquatic soil ;) I'm trying hard to keep my plants and and fish super happy!

Here's my little 2g fluval spec too, it has 2 baby clown killies and a handful of red cherry shrimp, and blue tiger shrimp

That is a BEAUTIFUL aquarium:eek: Very intricate setup, and I like the all the real plants and natural decorations. So much nicer than a goldfish bowl with a couple fish swimming around a faux plant and castle decoration (that would've been my aquarium when I had one lol:54:). That's some pretty cool lighting too. I never realized they had lights that had all those color and "modes" for aquariums.

Just curious, but how's the maintenance on a setup like that? I remember having to clean mine every Saturday and it was such a pain (no filter). Do all those live plants and filters (and the cute little shrimps) make it easier to keep clean?

Maintaince is pretty easy, I do a 25% water change once a week like you would with any healthy cycled tank, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia are always great. I also don't have to vaccume the gravel, I use aquatic soil which is dirt, the fish poop will fall apart and in turn help to feed the plants.

The plants are all like mini filters, the faster they grow the more they benefit the water quality. Plus the fish LOVE the plants.

That weather control is pretty cool! I LOVE it! It's nice to have the water parameters in balance where things thrive. The plants help with the nitrogen cycle :) I've never kept the live aquatic plants. My terrestrial plants all died lol.

When I first started with aquariums, it was a saltwater reef... That's like a beginner with birds getting a pair of Scarlet Macaws. It was a fascinating hobby once I learned enough (and wasted enough money!) It's been years since I've kept a tank of any kind, but I think after I move this year, I may set up a fancy goldfish tank. Simple.

Awesome! I love that you can't see the fish. The must feel very protected with all that lush vegetation around them. Good work!

I had my tank when I was a kid, and it was just 2 fish in a fish bowl. Once they were out, I just dumped the water, rinsed it out a few times, washed the castle thing and plant, and put it all back together and put those special drops in the clean water. I must've done something right, because they lived about 6/7 years. Sadly, the goldfish committed suicide when it jumped out of the tank one night, and his buddy the glassfish must've died of a broken heart, because he up and died like a week after the goldfish. Haven't had fish since.

My newts tank only needs to be cleaned once a month, and I just scoop out a cup of water/add a cup of fresh water once a week, so he's really low maintenance. He seems healthy too. I still do what I did with the fishes- scrub the tank and decor thoroughly. I'm sure I would manage to kill the poor thing if I tried to get into all that fancy equipment and fine balanced systems, but I really admire people who can figure all that out. Aquariums like yours are beautiful.

We are looking for a bird for our family. It's very much like we are pregnant and waiting for the day the new addition comes to the family!
LOVE the tank! I've been a part of badmans tropical fish community for a long long time now.
I have a 75g myself, and my daughter has a 10. How big is yours? Do you run co2? How much are lights like that?
